I have thick toenails. Not a fancy TLC level, but still pretty thick. Regular clippers don't cut, no pun intended. This clipper works great, it's easy to use, it doesn't slip, it cuts neatly and cleanly. I have tried the pliers that podiatrists use and prefer them as they are easier and cleaner. I just received these clippers and they trim my toenails very well. They are very sharp and easy to use on your toes. The only downside is that you have to be careful not to cut off a piece of your toe like I did. I don't recall this ever having been a problem before. The technique seems to be to press the blades against the nail before exposing it to cut it off or you could get there. I would never let a child use them. It's too easy to cut off some flesh.
