🔨 WoodGood 170 1012 12oz Mallet Review

I needed a good hammer for my leather work. The Wood Is Good Hammer is pretty good. Excellent workmanship and easy handling. The price is okay, maybe a bit high for a plastic mallet with a wooden handle, but overall reasonable. If you are looking for a good basic resin hammer for embossing leather etc this will get the job done at a good price.

I didn't realize how much a good hammer could help with chiselling. The increased control is noticeable and the noise figure is greatly reduced. I also noticed much less hand fatigue given the superior ergonomics, increased hammer surface area and better balance compared to more traditional hammers. I am a very happy customer.

Now I have 20 oz and 12 oz models and I don't even work with WOODEN. I work with SKIN. I live in an apartment and I grind, punch and carve leather, so quiet is a priority. And I just can't soften it because then I don't get the indentation that I need in my leather products. I will be proof of how incredibly different the sound is when you hit the same instrument, with the same force, with the same result, but with a different hammer. To be honest it's amazing.
