The cable fits snugly over the detachable tray next to the steering wheel, no drilling required, simply remove the heater panel with a cutter, remove the 4 10mm screws on the stereo, plug in and feed the cable through. I also used duct tape to secure the small control box.

After several days of operation, this led to a total failure of the system. First the plug disappeared. After a few minutes the music from the CD started changing and eventually all the buttons became unresponsive. I couldn't even turn off the whole system. When I removed the adapter, the system worked properly again. UPDATE: Although the device stopped working and I couldn't use it, the seller was very responsive to my message and eventually I got my money back, so I changed 1 star to 3.

It took about 30 minutes to install in Toyota Hylander for the first time. Works fine, here's a 2005 Corolla. I made sure the rear port is 6+6 before ordering, which means you have to pull out the radio / CD conveniently. I was pleasantly surprised to find that I could even use the CD player with a device connected to it. If you have a CD in the player, this accessory will be ignored, regardless of whether it is playing or not.
