Perfect size zipper

Why, why aren't they sold in every store in the country? They are absolutely perfect for a quart to gallon storage bag. I use them way more than any other size. They're great for marinating chicken, pork, steak, etc. You've never had a leak. Also use them to freeze leftovers and especially our freshly caught fish. Just perfect.

Pros
  • Paper and plastic
Cons
  • Very expensive

Ideal for hiking.

If you're backpacking and/or preparing homemade food in a freezer bag at the campsite, I highly recommend taking a few with you. They have a foldable bottom that allows them to sit flatter than the standard gallon size. Their real benefit is that the shorter size fits much better in your insulated dish or mug while rehydrating/cooking your food after adding hot water. I've also used them to marinate jerky and other meats. Works great.

Pros
  • Health & Household
Cons
  • Concise Guide

Decided to try them as they were reasonably priced and a different size. I really like them for larger items as the bottom expands further than a gallon storage bag. Basically the same width, more thickness and half the height of a gallon bag. Good for thick or multiple steaks or chicken, but just as good for lots of veggies and you don't waste the entire height of a gallon bag. Also, the zipper is really strong. Maybe suitable for sous vide?

Pros
  • Disposable Food Container
Cons
  • Expensive
