Ideal OEM replacement

Ideal OEM replacement for a 2006 HHR (part marked "Made in Japan" as original). It took longer to remove the fiberglass cover under the glove box to gain access. The original lasted 11 years so this should last the rest of the car's life!

Pros
  • Ideal for a small home
Cons
  • Upgrade available

2007 Cobalt LS 4DR 2.2L

On my '07 Cobalt LS, the fan stopped working at "4" power. Replaced the part and now it works perfectly. Only time will tell if it will stand the test of time/use like the original (11 years). If any part fails I will update the review.

Pros
  • Nice packaging
Cons
  • Interval

Easy replacement

Unboxing takes longer than installing. 2010 Chevy Cobalt.2 carabiners keep it under the glove box. Disconnect the connector, insert a new part and reinsert it. My daughter is very happy that the fan is now running at all speeds again, especially for her air conditioner.

Pros
  • High test scores for support and durability
Cons
  • Minor issues

Out of the Bag Not Working Properly

bought this for a customer. Should have known better than to use Delcos AC on a part that keeps failing. Installed a new fan motor and then this controller. The fan worked only in "off", and then on maximum. In no position did "on" not work, only "off". I didn't return it because my customer needed her air conditioning in 95 degree heat. Get better this time. He turned on the fan so it gets 2 stars.

*** YOU ARE LICKING THE FAN! ***

The reason people keep saying this resistor keeps blowing is because they don't bother to find the reason! A piece of black plastic is glued under the windshield, under the plastic trim, on the passenger side. This glue is no longer effective and you are leaking water into the bottom compartment and fan! Take the new sealant, stick it back on, and you don't have to replace another resistor!

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Lots of things

Failed within 2 months - replacement also failed

Update: Replacement failed again within 3 months on a 2007 Chevy HHR. The fan motor is fine, but it can draw a little more current than when it was new - and this resistor can't handle it. This is a thin film design, not a wire wound resistor. Bad design. How to activate the warranty (15-80879 out of service for 2 months in Chevy HHR)1. Call AK DELCO. You will be given a reference number and a phone number to call Revain2. Called Revain Revain agreed to send a replacement but of course I have…

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Compatibility
