The finish on the blue edge of this case is a flat dull blue plastic. The picture makes it look like it will have a nice shiny metallic look to it, but it's definitely not. I spent hours looking for a light weight cotton comforter and found this one. It's nicer than I expected. I have trouble sleeping with just a sheet (yes, even in the summer) but this comforter stays cool enough that I can use it without sweating. I was a little worried about the filling but it does not seem to keep the comforter from "breathing".
