Up until a few years ago my cycle was like a Tokyo train, moderate and only lasting three days. Fast forward 30 years and now my periods are completely unpredictable, awful and can go from 0 to 60 faster than a Ferrari. About a year ago I had my first "accident". You know what I mean, ladies. So I started looking into menstrual underwear. I used tampons with pads as a backup and didn't want to do it for 5-7 days of a 21 day cycle. To be honest I couldn't afford $30-$40 for each seat I wanted so I decided to persevere. Eventually, some will realize that affordable period underwear is an untapped market. Bamboo appears. Now I'm sorry, but unlike some of the reviewers, I'm not interested in testing the limits of this underwear. I bought several pairs and decided to use them as a fallback instead of a tampon for two cycles and here's what I thought. These underwear are obviously a bit thicker in the crotch area due to the absorbent layers, but I've worn them all day to work, to bed, on errands, etc. and it's no different from underwear and much better than pads. They are very comfortable. The boys shorts are very cute, they don't roll up or slide down and nothing moves. My backup protection was always reliable where I needed it! But in the end I needed it. I don't think I need to deal with what it means to get up in the morning. I used to have to set an alarm on bad days and get up in the middle of the night. Now I can wear them to bed, sleep through the night, and even take a minute or two to go to the bathroom in the morning. Work - I even had to queue to go to the bathroom! I would just step out and go for the day wearing regular underwear! A bit of TMI - they felt really wet when used. Can't tell if it was more than one panty liner as I usually change them right away but I wore them all day as intended. After a while they became dry. I wiped them with a napkin and even squeezed them and the napkin came out dry and clean. I was very surprised and happy that all of my body was evil. I can understand how people can wear them as their only method. I would trust them if I had to, but I prefer absolute silence. Increase the size! I always have multiple brands, but I ordered a size up on the recommendation of other reviewers. Size XL fits perfectly!
