Easy installation and perfect fit for my 2003 CRV.

Easy install and perfect fit for my 2003 CRV. Everything worked exactly as it should and the instructions that came with it were great. Remove the tail light on the passenger side. Remove the trunk/hatch carpet and cover. Remove the pair of 10mm screws securing the driver's side trunk interior trim pieces. Carefully remove the panel. Locate the wire harness that supplies power to the taillight. There is an unused link this will connect directly to. Run the wires out and under the car through a…

Perfect product for my needs and easy to install.

Arrived quickly. It was relatively easy to install. I didn't like that Honda didn't make a pull out place for it, so you have to thread it into the trunk's storage area (read: cut a hole) and then leave it hanging at the back of the trunk. and storage space in use i hate but thats on a honda. I'm bad with written instructions so I found a great YouTube video and it went fast. It works great; My only concern is that closing it in the trunk will eventually crack the plastic casing and fray the…

2008 Honda Pilot, worked great

I have an electrical engineering degree and make a living building and wiring industrial control panels. I was amazed at how easy it was. I have a 2008 Honda Pilot. You just open the tailgate, place a screwdriver on the tailgate and the gray connector is ready to go. Also on the left (driver's side) is a black plastic plug. Pull it out and cut it so the wiring goes through. There's another one further down the driver's side, on the underside of the truck. Take it out and cut it too. Wires can…

Has stopped working properly but the previous one lasted a long time

I used to install one of these units with no problems (worked well for many years) then recently had the trailer wiring pulled and the cord in the Car wiring harness was broken (no fault of the wiring harness itself). I replaced it with another Curt device and noticed that the directions and braking were intermittent. It was suspected that there was a problem with the floor, headlights or trailer wiring due to age and use, so new trailer headlights and trailer wiring harness were purchased and…

Very bad guide.

Very self contained unit with very low assembly cost, perfect for my car's hardware connection. The biggest problem I had was a very incomplete and poorly written and designed installation guide. The only thing they did to help me was help me find the electrical connection I needed in the back of my car. Nothing else was explained or illustrated, so I was left with a trial and error approach to problem solving, e.g. B. Which plastic plugs do you remove? do you replace them? Should the black…

Difficult to install if you hide the wires.

If you don't mind the wires being exposed and the tailgate being left closed on the wires at all times, this works great and is easy to install. I had to modify my car because the wire wasn't long enough to go through the tail light which would hide the wire. So I ran under the plastic shroud from the connector on the right hand side and cut out the metal here, the hull of the body meets the metal bumper under the rubber o-ring. Had to use an angle grinder to cut the groove and smooth it out. I

Perfect Performance - Lighting and Electrical

A good solution that connects directly to your existing wiring harness. Thanks to Honda for pre-wiring their cars, by the way it made life much, much easier and much cleaner than hooking up to existing wiring. The instructions are a little generic, but a few quick web searches will fill in any missing blanks for an easy install. As advertised, the connector on my Element was behind the right panel. I ended up removing the entire right hand panel along with the bumper cover and routing the…
