You can do that! at Starters & Parts

Part works great. Installation is a little tricky due to some hard to reach spots and the need to remove the muffler to remove the old one and replace the new starter. I wouldn't have tried it if I hadn't watched YouTube videos which were very helpful.

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Upgradeable

Breathed new life into my Duramax.

Installation wasn't that bad, although unlike some YouTube videos I could access both screws under the truck. The exhaust pipe had to be removed to make room. The new starter turns my Duramax like new and the slow start problem is solved.

Pros
  • Everything is fine!
Cons
  • Socket required

this is the "real offer "

the part i received was true. I had s14-103c in the model number which is the Hitachi number that AC Delco uses for production because they are the best. Great replacement for the price, my 2009 Duramax starts like I just bought it from the dealer. gonna watch if he ever fails in the next 2 years and here he gets -30 rounds.

Pros
  • quality construction
Cons
  • dull packaging

So far so good for starters and alternators

After reading good and bad reviews, I ordered this with hesitation. This starter is cheaper than a core recovery device! Installation isn't easy, especially if you have an aftermarket exhaust. The front skid plate and inner fender are fine and the exhaust needs to be removed. The starter sounds and runs better than when I last repaired it at the local parts store!

Pros
  • Wow
Cons
  • Vulgarity

'01 LB7 - tight fit but works great!

Start like new again with this starter. 112,000 on my last aftermarket starter so can't complain. It's been dying for a year or more - it looks like the Bendix is out of service. TIP: You MUST disconnect the outlet next to the starter and move it back and to the side to remove and install this starter. I also rotated the starter 180 degrees to ease the passage of the solenoid. While the old one is out, take the time to clean up the dirt that will be on the flat part of the block.

Pros
  • Enjoyable
Cons
  • Obsolete

Correct fit! on Starters

I was skeptical after reading some of the reviews but I checked the part number on the ac delco website and at my local parts store and it's the correct part number so I have it you receive. The engine is a little shorter than the original, but everything else is fine. Inserted and sacred. Well, after 375k the old man was probably very tired. It's been a long time since an old truck started that quickly. It starts faster! It's been working for a week now, it starts 5-10 times a day and has…

  • Certified
Cons
  • Cable shorter than others

Look no further - LMM Duramax Starter

Used this on my Silverado 2007.5 2500HD Duramax. Fairly easy replacement for the most part. Tips: Access to the top bolt was more difficult. I ended up using a couple of foot extenders to remove it. The extensions went from the stud straight to the front of the truck near the radiator. There was enough room to connect a ratchet/hammer for removal/installation. Separate the exhaust pipe from the downpipe for easy disassembly/assembly. After disconnecting and removing the starter bolts, press…

Pros
  • Few competitors
Cons
  • unreliable

LLY 6.6L 2005 - not full size weak starter

The first thing that bothered me was that the original motor that came with the LLY Duramax was about 3 inches larger than this ACDelco motor. My second problem was that when I turned the engine over, the engine sounded like new; however very weak. It had no boost or raw power and over time I saw this engine fail very quickly. My third and final issue with this product, when I went online to check if this starter was actually suitable for LLY Duramax or any Duramax I couldn't get the…
