My 2011 Sierra started reporting my washer fluid incorrectly.

My 2011 Sierra started reporting low washer fluid incorrectly when the car was about three years old. After ignoring this message for four years, I decided to find out the reason and fix the problem. After researching on YouTube and then purchasing this part, it took 15 minutes to install. The false windshield washer fluid message is now gone. Not sure why I put it off for four years before fixing it.

Pros
  • Feeling Good
Cons

It fits a 2009 Tahoe and is cheaper than the dealer

Fits a 2009 Tahoe, you just need to use the old washer and the new one together. Installation: Install old washer, then install new washer, then handle sensor. It's not that easy, you just have to fight this sensor, turn it right and left and it will work. This is the easiest way I've found. Cheaper than the dealer who offered me $41 and arrived very quickly the next day. He removed the warning sign (add washer fluid). I definitely recommend this item.

Pros
  • Nice to use
Cons
  • Good but not great

Simple and effective.

Easy installation, just like factory part. Put it on my 2011 Tahoe as the DIC always shows a low washer fluid message when I start or sieve or park. You have to access from the front wheel arch by removing the fender skirt clips and 2 screws (7mm?) to remove, just loosen the electrical clip and pull out. To install I had to loosen about 6 10mm screws to get the extra battery compartment out and allow slack to set the sensor too close to the metal bracket. Just like pie, if you can change the…

Does not fit original or recommended tanks

Does not fit my original tank. I bought the tank recommended in the publication and it didn't fit this tank either. I had to make some changes to make it fit. I had to give it some girth. I used teflon tape to make it a bit thicker and then used a small o-ring to make sure it had a good seal. I was very frustrated after it didn't fit the first time but after I bought the tank he recommended and it still didn't work I almost lost it. My ingenuity has paid off so far, but I'm shocked it hasn't…

The sensor worked as expected, but you may need this installation tip.

I installed this part on my 2008 Chevy Avalanche. As some others have posted, my setup wasn't exactly perfect, but it wasn't overly complicated either. I had to fit the new rubber bushing into the existing rubber bushing as the new one was smaller in diameter and didn't seal well. To hold the two bushings together I used super glue to hold them together. If I didn't do that, the inner sleeve kept slipping out of the larger one. With this completed, the rest of the setup was as detailed by…

Low wash water warning problem solved!

I had the same problem as many SUV and Chevy truck owners. Warning of low washer fluid level even after filling with washer fluid. I have a 2011 Chevy Avalanche LTZ and have had this warning on the display for several months. In short, remove the sensor before ordering a replacement. Some sensors differ in design (plug angle) depending on the vehicle model. Genuine GM ACDelco Windshield Washer Water Level Sensor 20999338 fitted my Avy perfectly. Plug & Play and the problem is solved! It comes…

Currently working on washer and wiper

This replaced the OE which failed. I assume that this one will also fail. GM supplied them from the Chinese factory. They are a magnetic switch, not a mechanical one. The old one was always tested "enabled". This caused the display every time the stacker was started. Aggravating. I unplugged the electrical connector first and put it in a sealed plastic bag for protection. I thought it would work again if I sold this truck. 2011 Sliverado LT. The mileage is only 31,000 miles so leave it as is…

Does not fit my 08 Silverado, BUT works

Does NOT fit. BUT I got it working. I have a 2008 Chevy Silverado LS with a 4.3 V6 2wd engine. The sensor failed and I postponed the replacement because it's quite difficult to get there and it didn't do any harm. I ordered this sensor and when it arrived it doesn't fit, the circumference of the new sensor is too small. I've seen some old reviews of people having the same problem and using an old rubber gasket and some super glue to get the new sensor working. So I decided to snap the float off
