Quality Control Issues

I really like the idea of this tool and would love to have it. So much so that I've ordered it twice in the last week and a half. However, none of the blocks worked. The first came right away. I put in the included batteries and when I turned it on the display showed 4980, pressing any button once did nothing and if I held the power button down the display switched to 8888. At that point every button I pressed was blanking pressed, 8 (888, 88 , 8), then show Err. I requested and received aโ€ฆ

Not A Torque Wrench, It's A Torque Wrench Calibrator

A few things about this adapter bothered me when using it as a torque wrench: it's bulky and can't be used in hard-to-reach places, it drains batteries quickly if the buzzer is used a lot, it's difficult to set the correct one Torque value, sometimes in noisy environments, the buzzer is not audible, and it is easy to overload the torque if you are not careful, e.g. B. when it wants to switch off to save battery power, just when you're really ready to do the crucial torque work. The LCD screen got brighter and brighter the first time you used it

Received this today and was dying to check it out. I opened the box and inserted the two batteries that came with it. Turned on and set at 85 ft/lbs. I got to the 3rd nut and the numbers kept getting dimmer and dimmer until the LCD screen went blank. I pressed the power button but the LCD screen was still blank. I was wondering if the unit was still on so I put it on my torque wrench which was set at 85ft/lb and found the Acdelco was still on and the beeper was working but the LCD screen wasโ€ฆ

Yes, it's cheaper than a wrench, but it's also cumbersome and inconvenient.

What looks like a great idea on paper turns out to be not very good in reality. I used an ACDelco (not made by ACDelco btw) when I replaced the lower arm and brakes. The bulkiness of the case often got in the way and required fumbling with extension cords to attach it. The device shuts down at one-minute intervals, which is extremely inconvenient and cannot be changed by the user. This made setting awkward mounting positions even more inconvenient as I would have to run to tighten the nut orโ€ฆ
