This lock was difficult to open

Although the key was inserted normally, it was difficult to turn in the chamber. I might try adding some WD-40 and try again. If it's still too difficult to open, it goes in the bin!

Pros
  • The best in its niche
Cons
  • Some cons

Comes with one key, not two.

This lock comes in a box saying it contains two keys. Came with only one key. I called the manufacturer and they confirmed that the box was unprinted. That it comes with just one key.

Pros
  • Sleek design
Cons
  • Definitely bad product

I bought it to pick and choose

I buy a lot of locks because I like picking locks. American Model 1100 locks are known for their security pins and good tolerances. If you are looking for a good metal padlock that is shock and impact resistant, then this is the perfect product for you!

Pros
  • Certified
Cons
  • Vulgarity

Excellent lock, interesting to open

Very good lock. Very impact and scratch resistant, very difficult for inexperienced pickers to pick up. A hardened brace, but I haven't tested it for physical attacks, but it's probably the weakest link. Ideal lock for medium applications. The one I got was 4 coils and notched and even included a bypass plate!

Pros
  • Impressive
Cons
  • I vaguely remember

Finish damaged, only 1 key present

The original manufacturer's box was badly worn - as if it had been lying under a pile of locks and abused for years. As a result, the lock itself suffered cosmetic damage to the paint on the corners. As with the others, the packaging says there are 2 keys but only 1 key is provided.

Pros
  • Weight
Cons
  • High price

Excellent lock, strong and reliable. You can not ask for more.

I love this lock for securing my gym locker. That's good because if thieves see a padlock they're unfamiliar with, they'll just move on to something simpler. Tip: Don't use basic Masterlock combination locks unless you want your items to be stolen. These locks are too easy, even high school kids know how easy it is to pick them because there are so many videos on the internet showing how to do it in seconds. When someone's locker is broken into and I ask what kind of lock they have, it's always

Very high quality lock! Much better than MasterLock

This is the lock that MasterLock should release under its own name. These locks are of much higher quality than laminated MasterLocks. Laminated Master Locks are easy to pick, easy to pick, easy to open with brute force, and many older models can even be opened with a simple washer. These locks do not suffer from these problems. They are designed to be impossible to rake, impossible to misplace, extremely difficult to open with brute force, and have many advanced security pins making them…

Pros
  • Few competitors
Cons
  • Bad instructions
