Description of ARES 12020 2 Piece Axle Popper Kit

ITEM SPECIFICATIONS: This 2-Piece Axle Popper Set includes a 14-inch fork and a shim for quicker, easier, and safer work on front wheel drive vehicles when you need to break half shafts loose from the transaxle. The fork opening measures 1 7/8 inches. Note: This kit is not suitable for use on all vehicles. Check your vehicle specs to ensure proper fit. DESIGN CONSIDERATIONS: The two piece design of this kit means that users have multiple options for the safest and most efficient possible use. Strike the axle popper wedge or use it as a prybar to release the half shaft, and when you need something to fill the gap between the half shaft and transaxle, the included shim is the perfect tool for the job. The forked ends of these tools apply even pressure to both sides of the shaft you're working on for safer use, so it's easy to get the job done. APPLICATIONS: Whether you're a diy-er working out of your own home or a professional in a transmission shop, garage, or tire or body shop, this kit will allow you to break half shafts loose from the transaxle on front wheel drive vehicles quickly, easily, and safely thanks to the forked design's even pressure application. RELIABLE | EFFECTIVE | EFFICIENT: Users trust ARES to be quality tools. You are backed by our Performance Assurance Limited Lifetime Warranty. Quality product for axial tool

Previously used ARES products. They are all well constructed and these two piece popper tools are no exception. They are well assembled and came in a neatly packed box. I used it to remove my front drive axle and it worked fine. BTW I only used spacers for this job. Yes, I would recommend this tool to any DIY enthusiast looking for a cheaper alternative.

I don't know why I waited so long to buy!

Well, about a month ago my 1996 Nissan Sentra broke the drive axle and I couldn't f***ing get the transmission out! I've tried a crowbar, a flathead screwdriver and a hammer as seen on YouTube, nothing moved even a bit, I've been struggling with those stupid weeks, I bought this and it took 30 seconds to get it got 😑.

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Upgradable

Much better than a screwdriver or pry bar

It took me a long time to write a review. Finally the weather is nice without snow. I have a 1996 Sentra. I was able to open the passenger side with no problem, it worked perfectly. There were other problems on the driver's side. was unable to get both teeth under the axle and was forced to use this tool as a heavy duty wrench. The steel from which this tool was made was more than up to the task. I removed both axles without disassembling the inner CV joint like I had to do before. In general I

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • You could have chosen a newer model

Makes hard work doable

Benefits: - Works on Honda vehicles and just about every other front wheel drive car I've imagined! Minutes and they even scraped the barley and the axel came out! Cons: heavy? Nothing special, they do their job! You'll also need a hammer and some clearance/lever. Details: Used on a 1998 Honda Prelude with 350,000 miles. I spent 2 weeks trying to remove and re-attach the axle on the driver's side, tried hammers, screwdrivers and pry bars but nothing worked. I've seen so many videos and people…

Pros
  • Consistent test results
Cons
  • Fits
