The new ones were pressed in like in a dream

I wanted to replace all four ball joints in pairs on my 06 Ram 3500. I did the passenger side first and just rented a ball joint press kit from a local shop. It took me two (2) days to figure out how to get the old ones out and put the new ones in. There just weren't enough cups. I spent more time assembling how I would plug and unplug them than pressing them in. I sent this kit back as soon as one side was finished. I vowed never to rent one of their instruments again and immediately bought…

Better than renting car parts every time.

I bought this to replace the lower ball joints on my 2003 Trailblazer and it was the perfect kit. When I made the two upper ball joints I rented a press from an auto parts store and both times the press kit was missing parts and little did you know it was exactly the parts I needed. Bent jacking screws, spread screw clamps, deformed cups, simply a bad experience every time. When I realized my lower ball joints were bad, I looked for a press kit to buy one. I started watching YouTube videos and…

Worked with some modifications on the 03 Dodge Ram 1500 SLT, 2WD

Very good set with lots of cups. I used it on the lower ball joints of a Dodge Ram 1500 SLT 03, RWD (2WD). I didn't use the C-clip that came with it, but it would probably work. Instead I bought an OTC 6736 C-Clip (much wider bore) and matching OTC 6730 C-Clip adapters and then used the cups from that kit. By the way, this kit includes all four cups from the Dodge/Jeep OTC 7894, so don't buy it thinking you'll have more coverage. Why only 4 stars - well not really a problem with this kit or any

Buy, but be careful.

This ball joint press is a very decent quality tool but it is incomplete. Obviously this is not an OTC or snap-on BJP1 master kit, they could have done better. Pros: C-press and ejector screw threading is extremely smooth. I am very happy about this detail. The C-Press is forged and incredibly heavy. I can't imagine ever flexing this thing unless I'm holding my 1200 foot-pounds. The torque wrench is here forever. Adapters are the same as any other kit. I think they're all just copies of the…

Astro 7897 Ball Joint Service Tool Kit and Base Adapter Kit

Subject: Astro 7897 Ball Joint Service Tool Kit and Base Adapter Kit Vehicle: 1999 Dodge Dakota SLT 4X4. Kit with adapters for 4WD. But before I did that I wanted to be doubly sure it came with everything needed to remove and install the ball joints. The last thing I need is a tool that I thought should work, but it doesn't! I asked the same question to the Revain group and also to Astro; Is the Astro 7865 ball joint service tool sufficient for removing and installing ball joints on a 1999…
