I bought it for the wall next to the kitchen sink at work. I used screws to install them. I took the star off because one of the drywall pins (the plastic stuff you stuck in front of the screws) bent when trying to put it in. I still got it working, but it took some effort. This shelf is exactly what I was looking for. We seem to be getting more and more things to plug in or charge in the bathroom and I wanted to grab some of these off my counter. The shelf comes with screws for wall mounting as well as a self-adhesive backing for mounting where screws cannot be used. I was very happy about this small shelf. I was very disappointed to see that it was a futile effort. I tried using it on the back of a wooden door (after cleaning the face, flat surface and all), let it sit for a while, then put two very small sunscreen sprays on the shelf. I hear rumbling at night and I think someone broke in - no it's just the shelf broke and sunscreen spilled everywhere.
