These are green, biodegradable bin liners. New York now requires that food waste, leaves or yard waste be placed in these bags to indicate to sanitation workers that this garbage should be used as compost. While there are no issues with leaves or yard waste in these bags, they are when it comes to food waste, so I don't bother with these bags, although I understand and agree with the need to use them. The bags are biodegradable, if for some reason the food is in there for a long period of time…

So I want to give them a better rating. The main problem I have is.

are available so I want to give them a better rating. The main issue I have is that they tear very easily and I have ripped the bottom of a bag and dumped food waste on the floor or in my bin on more than one occasion. I solved this problem somewhat by doubling the bags, but that's an expensive solution. Pros
  • Our food waste bags align securely and fit into most kitchen/compost bins, ensuring zero waste and keeping bins clean and debris-free. Made in USA from imported resin from Italy
Cons
  • boring packaging

We tried different brands of compost bags but ultimately settled on the BioBag which has a bin with three compartments (one for rubbish, one for compost and one for recycling). The bags fit very well in a small jar and it's nice to know that they are compostable so we can use them for other waste related uses in addition to our compost. The downside is the…

Pros
  • home compost and compatible with backyard compost system
