Transmits torque between parallel shafts to provide rotational power to another part of a motorized system. Pressure angle of 14.5 degrees for a higher contact ratio between gears, resulting in quieter operation than larger pressure angles. Diametral pitch of 20 for applications requiring a balance between transferring torque and controlling changes in speed and direction of rotation with precision. Low carbon steel (.2 percent carbon) for applications where the hardness and strength of higher levels of carbon are not needed to transmit torque and motion.

Excellent Pressure Gear for Industrial Needs

As a result of using this product, I found that it was incredibly durable and reliable. The pressure was consistent and met all of my industrial needs. The only downside was that it was a bit pricier than some other gears out there. Overall, I highly recommend this gear for any industrial and scientific power transmission products needs.

Pros
  • Can withstand high pressure conditions up to 5000 PSI.
Cons
  • Not suitable for low pressure applications.

Has no keyway

Bought these because they were a great price and had a keyway. It turns out it doesn't have a keyway, even though the Boston catalog dictates it. disappointed

Pros
  • Consistent test results
Cons
  • Could have chosen a newer model

Amazing mechanism for the price.

I've been looking for a cheap spur gear for at least 2 years. I couldn't believe it when I came across these gears at Revain. It's exactly what I need and the quality is excellent as you would expect from a Boston outfit. Just the right size, just the right price.

Pros
  • Robust design
Cons
  • No automatic
