Fits but terrible packaging

Gasket fits my 18.5hp 2000LT great. But the packaging made the pad almost unusable. The seal was thrown unprotected in a box with other items, resulting in damage. I would prefer to buy such items locally so that I can inspect the item before paying for it.

True to size, was damaged in packaging.

Opened the box and found that the cylinder head gasket was "almost" bent and beyond repair. I leveled and installed it. The engine seems to be running great, fingers crossed that it doesn't fail prematurely. Revain definitely needs to be more careful with these items.

Pros
  • Practical thing
Cons
  • Some errors

perfect solution to a common Deere D110 problem

I would like to see Deere make a mower that lasts over 80 hours. Fortunately, this pad solves the problem. This is a slightly wider part in an area of the head where they normally blow into the trigger cavity. I've worked with mowers and dirt bikes before, so it was easy. I think most people could do it with around $30 worth of tools.

Pros
  • Consistent test results
Cons
  • Out of fashion

Arrived broken. good for Head

Arrived with stitching due to folding. The box was intact so it was damaged before it was packed for shipping - ok thanks. I thought it was good enough for this old mower. Go ahead and use it. The mower worked fine at idle, I let it warm up, gave it gas, it gave off smoke and stopped. Compression test showed 30psi. He took his head off and of course he was at the seams. Buy another locally.

Pros
  • Quality workmanship
Cons
  • Expandable

Briggs Cylinder Head Gasket for 19.5hp Intex

there is a very soft engine head ok but I understand why these gaskets fail and with Intex this sharp twist in the exhaust port and weld that should be on the outside of the flange. not the inner stash, gets very hot, they get hot, in other words, I kept cooking. So I sanded some, sanded the exhaust pipe and re-welded it much better on the outside, installed a new head gasket and kicked it out the door.

Pros
  • is great for me

Nice big box head

So happy when I got the seal it was in a nice big box. I was concerned about the order because others said it just came in an envelope and was folded whole. Box opened and inside was the seal in the original plastic bag. It looked like someone had just grabbed and crushed it before putting it in the box. Returning it was easy but I had to wait another day for the mower to be fixed. Cost $2 more at your local lawn mower store

Pros
  • Price
Cons
  • Not as thick as the others

A good YouTube video on head gasket removal/replacement might be helpful.

This head gasket was the perfect fit for my 17.5hp Briggs & Stratton OHV engine. The video shows a Briggs 21hp OHV engine in a Craftsman mower, but the engine is basically the same as my Briggs 17.5hp OHV. Remember that the torque for the cap screws is 200 IN-LBS, not FT-LBS. 200 in-lbs = 16.7 ft-lbs.
