This scanner is a nightmare

I would never recommend this scanner. It's a nightmare to use. Compact? So what? If you don't have it (at all), you have even more free space. To scan? With it you can scan almost anything that could be scanned "without a scanner". You can spend days calibrating it, but you can't align the papers when scanning. Approximately 100 pages scanned in one year of use. Each page was scanned 3-5 times to be at least reasonably readable. There is simply no way to flatten the paper. Good luck scanning 20

Pros
  • Powered by included USB cable - no battery or outlet required
Cons
  • Not the best

Very easy to use with scanners and accessories

Just received it and it was easy to set up even without instructions other than the guide Insert and load a disc before connecting the scanner. I tried scanning different types of items and it worked great. Color, B&W, even a photo. It's small enough to fit in my bag next to my portable printer, so I always have a scanner handy. I was very impressed with the quick and easy two-sided scanning. I have already recommended it to my sales colleagues and would highly recommend it to anyone who needs…

Pros
  • Scans black and white and color documents up to 8.5" x 14" (legal)

Skewed scans and black borders on scans

I don't like using this. This may be true of other compact scanners as I've only used this one, but I don't like how difficult it is to line it up so it feeds straight. As a result, it's always crooked, so you always get dark stripes on the top and sides with every scan. The dark area at the top is usually a quarter of an inch thick unless you line it up perfectly, which is impossible. I guess I'm anal so this really bothers me and I don't understand why it can't detect and auto delete all the…

Pros
  • PC and Mac compatible
Cons
  • Insanely slow

Good Value in Office Electronics

I like this scanner for its size, ease of use, price and speed. However, I don't like the difficult task of aligning the paper in the scanner to prevent a black line appearing at the top, which is usually crooked. With a lot of care and patience you can feed the paper into the scanner to avoid a line, but who has the time? It doesn't matter to me as I mainly scan stuff for personal use, but I wouldn't recommend it on a professional level. Generally a good bang for your buck.

Pros
  • Scans common business documents, business cards, photos, ID cards and more
Cons
  • Nothing

My Humble Scanner Review

I've been using this app with my iMac for a few weeks now and absolutely love it. I have attempted to get rid of all paper receipts in my house and have instead resorted to keeping electronic copies of documents. This scanner includes MAC software that just works. There are options that allow the scanner to scan a document in PDF, JPG, and some other formats. First, I scan my billing and statement receipts and store them in my Apple Time Capsule for safekeeping. So far I am very happy with this

Pros
  • Includes DSmobile SCAN II software to save scanned images as PDF, JPG or TIFF
Cons
  • Not as good as it says it is

Handy, useful scanner

From a hardware perspective, this scanner deserves 5 stars. It has several commendable qualities: it generally works well, especially for single-pass duplex scanning; processes leaves quickly; scans PDF or JPEG from good to high quality; moves easily from one computer to another; easy to calibrate; comes with a good, if not the most protective, case (and there don't seem to be any hard cases on the aftermarket, at least not on Revain); and has software that works. I usually use Scan to PDF…

Pros
  • Powered by included USB cable - no battery or outlet needed
Cons
  • Flaws

Not bad, but not cutting edge

Let me start by saying that this scanner can do almost anything you want it to do. It scans documents or business cards and has a duplex scanning function. It can scan in black and white, color or grayscale and also has variable resolution settings so you can work with it to get the right scan. In general, this item is almost identical to the DocketPort line of scanners. The included scanning program has exactly the same structure as DocketPort, so once you're used to it, this scanner will look

Pros
  • Scans common business documents, business cards, photos, ID cards and more

  • Crumpled
