I need to update the software and take my time

I had to update the software that came with it to take full advantage of the 100 gram discs I also bought. The only thing I complain about is the write speed of 94g which seems to be the max for a 100g disc which is almost 12 hours per disc. Note that the time it takes may also be affected by the network speed between the computer and the NAS.

Pros
  • Consistent test results
Cons
  • Upgradable

Great ride. optical drive compatible

My son doesn't have a DVD or Blu-ray burner so I bought one for my computer because it's not accessible. We don't trust the cloud for backups, so this works fine. We use Nero and an internet connection is required to use Blu-ray for backup, but I don't know why. We also create backups on external drives. I hate remodeling computers, especially those with limited broadband access in our rural areas.

Pros
  • 1 year trial
Cons
  • Seniors

Works great Easy to install

I bought and installed this in December and it works great for me. I have no mechanical or software problems. I can use multiple software options for this drive. I am very happy with this purchase and recommend it to other people. I would buy this again.

Pros
  • Finally bought
Cons
  • Great price

Software update required and no rush

My movies won't play

Buy this unit by calling 3-31-21, the power button is on the back of the unit, which is very large to begin with. Big . Used the device to install the program, everything worked fine on my computer. Decided to try the movie to get a message saying the software is out of date and for $64 I can upgrade it to play the movies. My computer is a week old, 32 inch hp. loaded. I don't understand how an Asus product can be sold obsolete, paid $159 for a Blu-ray disc, went to the website and got a repair

Pros
  • Computers and accessories
Cons
  • Cable is shorter than other picks

Buy for use on Blu-ray media only!

Ideal for use with most optical media. - Yes for all CD media - Yes for all DVD media - Yes for all Blu-ray media - No, not at all for M-Disc media. All the included software must be purchased separately, which is expensive! The drive will NOT work with M-Disk media as advertised!

Pros
  • Optical Drives
Cons
  • Available in black only
