Generic appears - Maybe Teac is in it. Works well.

Get this drive quickly from ShopDigi. It was correctly recognized by Windows 7 Home Edition when plugged into the USB port on my Gateway NV79 laptop. The drive seems to be working a bit harder than what I previously remembered, but it formatted the disk correctly once I logged in as a full user. The product listing clearly says "Teac External drive.by Teac" and Teac is mentioned in several places. The product I received does not show any indication that it belongs to Teac. Works well on Windows 8.1

This 1.44MB USB floppy disk plugged into my 5 year old Windows 8.1 computer without using the data CD that came with it. Some time later, while the computer was detecting new hardware, Windows Explorer added floppy drive A: removing and replacing the floppy will NOT result in a new read, which is expected based on some other comments I've read here. A handy addition to computers

This drive is handy and saved me from having to add an internal drive. It's small, light, and works just as well as any internal drive. Thanks to plug and play, I can use the drive with both my Vista 64-bit desktop and Windows 7 64-bit laptop. It's great for transferring small data files between two PCs and sharing hundreds of drives, data and empty leftovers from previous pieces. I used it to transfer many data files from floppy disks to my computer and then to CDs. I like that the USB cableโ€ฆ

Works great even with Windows 7

I have been a professional writer for many years. I've had a large number of 3.5" floppy disks taking up shelf space in my home office for a long time, having not had a computer with a floppy drive in a while. The thought of having to throw it all away was, to say the least, uncomfortable. With this thin external drive (and it's really thin and light) I solved the problem. And quite simply. The box doesn't say that this drive works with Windows 7. (It says that it works with Win 98/2000โ€ฆ
