Review constantly updated in Windows 10 - f.lux

I want to write a review because I work with this HDMI to USB display adapter from Cable Matters. First impression: F.lux doesn't work well in a second extended monitor (we all know this problem already) Second impression: Three monitors (a laptop and two extended monitors) dim after plugging in an adapter. Final impression: I am very happy with this adapter as it even works with my 4k monitor (Dell). Of course, the max resolution is 1440, but that gives me some bandwidth as long as I buy anโ€ฆ

Just what I needed I hope you will too

I recently bought a new desktop for my office with windows 10. One in a landscape, the other in a portrait. The new desktop only had an HDMI output along with a VGA output. None of my monitors have a VGA input, and I don't think it's a good idea to use such a high resolution over an analog VGA cable anyway. I bought this adapter to connect a second monitor. It outputs over HDMI but includes an adapter for output to DVI. There are cheaper alternatives that output at 1080p, but I want a QHDโ€ฆ

Didn't get the right product initially.

I received a USB to HDMI adapter that doesn't say "Cable Matters" on the product or packaging; The instructions say FrescoLogic and the @outlook.com support email is patchy. DVI-HDMI adapter was not included. Doesn't look like the pictures posted by other reviewers. Billed by Revain, sold to Cable Matters. Revain quickly replaced him. In the past I've tried using inexpensive options, but they've failed miserably. The update rate is much slower than advertised and barely working drivers andโ€ฆ

I wanted to connect two external monitors to my iMac, but it only has one Thunderbolt port. It seemed like a good decision. I was about to send this thing back because at first I couldn't get it to work with my mid 2011 iMac with High Sierra installed, but after some research I figured it out. My Mac only has USB 2.0 FYI. New High Sierra drivers are available on the Displaylink website. However, you need to follow additional steps in their article at Support & Knowledge Base -> Mac OSXโ€ฆ

USB 3.0 to HDMI works very well!

. Black This adapter works very well! This USB 3.0 to HDMI adapter is very suitable for those doing officer-oriented work or other computing tasks that don't require intensive GPU power. The manufacturers and sellers of this device are very open about its limitations. This is not intended for use with gaming software. However, if your first display can handle games, just use that display by showing non-GPU intensive windows on the second monitor and the laptop's own monitor. This adapterโ€ฆ

Currently the only USB3-to-HDMI device worth the money - at least for Mac users.

The first one I ordered was Dead On Priority. I sent it back and ordered a replacement. The replacement works. and it is such a well made product that I give it 5 stars even though the first device was DOA. It's one of three USB HDMI devices I've reviewed; One was from Etekcity (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00F8OPKLW) and produced a decent picture, but I couldn't get any sound through the HDMI output. StarTech.com (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00612ZPQA) was second and it handled theโ€ฆ
