some problems with scanners

Since I only have problems scanning a black and white image or text, bad instructions do not help. spoke to two Canon techs who pretend they've never seen a scanner before. Basically a nice setup if I could solve my problems.

Old but Golden: Scanner

Someone will notice that there are 15 years between these reviews and this one. I think scanners haven't improved much over the years so I should just go with the old one as it's cheaper and more modern PC peripherals that work with paper tend to break or bug what they do urges to just buy a newer "best" car. I scanned a color comic as a test and it looked like I was only reading the pages, but on my monitor! But unfortunately! There are no drivers for Windows 8 (my OS) and most likely Windows…

Ease of use, easy storage

Before I decided on the CanoScan N122OU, I did a lot of research on scanners. Several brands and models came equipped with the high-resolution output I need for my hobby photography, but the deciding factors for me in choosing this model were: 1) It's very thin and light - PLUS it can be stored upright on my desk. (My old scanner was heavy, big and took up a lot of space.) 2) I had faith in the Canon brand - and still do. Having made a choice, I have no regrets. It was easy to set up and use (I

Arrived DOA Best in Scanner

It has a nice form factor; smooth look; easy to connect. I've spent hours trying to get this thing to work to no avail. Error messages kept popping up with instructions to unlock the mechanism that protects the scan element during shipping, unplug the USB connector, plug it back in, and try again. Again and again it just didn't work. Canon's online documentation was useless and attempts to contact Canon through the website resulted in an autoresponder and NEVER provided assistance in the form…

Exceeded all expectations

Great little scanner. And I mean little; The only thing I noticed was the small size of the device. In fact, I've taken it with me on a couple of trips. Besides the size, the fact that only one USB cable is required is a real boon. Power comes from the USB port, so I only needed one cable for power and signal. Very cool. And it worked great with both the Mac G4 Cube and the iceBooks I have. And despite what I've read, I found it really calm. Certainly a significant improvement over my old…

tries to rise!

I have 2 MFPs, one with a flatbed, the other with a sheet feeder/fax scanner, but the printer drivers are out of date etc On my desktop, which is still running XP, unlike my lappy with win7, i am trying to set up this scanner for a past ebay sale for which i forgot to provide some paperwork. At the moment I'm just trying to remember my experience. with scanner. It was expensive when I bought it for about a hundred and seventy dollars from a member club near Seattle. The software that came with…
