Not for automotive use.

I bought it to loosen nuts. The part you attach the socket to broke immediately within the first 30 seconds of use. I would go with something heavier for nuts and/or car use.

Pros
  • Hands-free operation
Cons

Poor construction, head broke when changing tires.

Sure the bolts were seized and it took a decent amount of force to break out but you get what you pay for, I feel like I bought this bolt along with a 3/8" drive breaker broken into 3 got used.

Pros
  • Tough finish
Cons
  • Security

Very disappointed with power tools and hand tools

Like another customer, I bought it for some car work (tire disassembly mainly). Worked well for one turn of the wheel. The second time I used it, it broke completely at the socket connection. The bolts were tightened well below the rated limit of this breaker. The result was a scratch on one of my discs. very disappointed.

Pros
  • Consistent test results
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging

Don't waste your money

I bought it and unlike others I've never used it. It was in the back of my truck in a trash can with outlets and two bottle jacks. Within 4 months of purchase I had to use it. Unfortunately it was broken. The roll pin/pin came off my truck due to vibration. I wasn't happy at all with the drive back to camp and then back to my truck for a tire change. Spend your money on another brand.

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Expensive

Good for power tools and hand tools

So far so good. Feels great in hand. The quality seems right. I am very grateful for the handle design. I personally hate tools with plastic or rubber handles. I like dropping and pushing tools on cement without worrying about damaging the handle. I did several test runs with this crusher on some nuts just to try it out. So far, so good. If this crusher breaks in the future I will update my rating and lower my five star rating to 2. If Capri Tools lives up to the lifetime warranty I will…

Pros
  • Pleasant to use
Cons
  • Can't remember if there was anything

Jumpers 3/8 are NOT intended for loosening clamping nuts!

I've been in the auto repair business for over 40 years and I own a lot of tools. I bought this 3/8 breaker to replace a Craftsman that went missing a while back. For such a low price I didn't expect anything better. It's well made and beautifully finished, although slightly thinner than the Craftsman. I've used it to loosen door hinge bolts and engine mount bolts and it worked fine. After looking at all the photos of the broken tool, it was clearly not used for its intended purpose. My 1/2"…

Pros
  • Great design
Cons
  • A few little things

Functionally good tool, but average workmanship

This article has been rated with 3.5 stars. Not quite 4, but better than 3 stars. The vortex has quite a game. If you like precision in your tools (like me) then you will be a little disappointed. The processing corresponds to the price. It's not a snap-on chrome finish, but for the price, it's not a snap-on either. In my opinion, the end of the pen that you press on is pretty narrow. Not very large in scope (extent). It should be thicker. This means applying a lot of force to the bar (like you

Pros
  • Easy setup
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.

Good enough for the cost.

It's exactly what it looks like, $18 breakdown. I'm a general aviation mechanic and just need extra strength to remove the base nuts from the cylinder. I will probably use this break less than a dozen times a year. Most of my tools are Snap-on, but I won't be using this break anymore because I haven't seen the need to spend 10x more on Snap-on or even 5x more on Craftsman. Is it a cheap tool? Yes, but it was cheap for the price. If you're a heavy machinery mechanic and use a 1/2" gap every day…

Withstands over 200 ft lbs of torque

I needed to replace the brake discs on a German off-road racing vehicle and removing the calipers required removing bolts that were torqued to 210-220 ft lbs. The 24-inch length of the Capri Tools pry bar made the job a lot easier. Just make sure any socket adapter or socket/bit is rated for the torque required and that you are as PERPENDICUL as possible! If you go beyond 90 degrees, the torque will be unevenly distributed across the drive surface and/or pivot and you can wiggle your head. does

Quality Tools: Wrenches

I had nuts on my truck and tried everything. I tried two airguns I had and the crazies just laughed at this poor attempt. I tried a competitor's break bar and the first nut broke the part holding the bushing like butter. So I bought the best "high torque" pneumatic impact wrench to make the nuts laugh. I mean, those little pigs made their house out of steel. I decided to make one last try with a Capri crowbar. I've used Capri in the past so thought I'd really give them a try. I put the firing…
