Helped to increase pH, beautiful appearance.

Really like this Sustrate took ages to flush out and after 6 lifts the tank was still so fogged up I couldn't but after lifting the filter a few times it cleared up the next morning . What I really like is that I increased the pH for 3 days and didn't notice any change, the alkalinity was dangerously low. And after I put the substrate in they both brought it down to healthy levels and the pH went from light orange to dark red orange so now that the tank is primed for another day I can finally…

I have always had good luck with Caribsea and this product is phenomenal

I have always had good luck with Caribsea and this product is phenomenal. I've needed a heavier, coarser sand substrate for some of the dirty digger fish and it doesn't disappoint. They can do whatever they want without damaging the tank, but it's heavy enough to completely destroy the hardscape. Stays nice and loose without compression. All I can say is that not only should Caribsea do a similar grit in this color combo, I'd happily forgo the black and white mix and go for something more…

ATTENTION TO THE BUYER! - Aquarium substrate

First of all there was a hole in the bag and there was sand everywhere. Second and most importantly, this is not the sand that is advertised. The package is the same you would pay $30 for at LFS, but it has tiny black rocks that ruin the consistency of the sand. I have two bags in my tank now and judging by the way the cichlids are moving the sand it looks like the lighter colored rocks are moving up. It doesn't look that nice and it's not what I expected. They don't process refunds unless I…

May cause stress to fish in an existing aquarium.

5/27/19 - I used to buy this for my short 40g tank. So I bought one for my heavy weight of 55g. I like the way they look but it seemed to strain the fish when I first added it. It does get cloudy but at my 40g it's completely gone after about a week but I forgot to rinse off the substrate. I flushed it thoroughly and did 75% WC at 55g and it got rid of most of the cloudiness. Looks good after 2 hours. I hope I don't lose the fish. holding peacocks. Black gravel isn't bad, and I think it usually

Nothing better

I bought this for my Oscar Tiger's new 125 gallon tank. I was a bit worried because of the negative reviews that the tank wasn't cleaned after putting it in the tank. But after doing or reading a lot, I am convinced that this product is the best. Well this is a natural product so I really didn't expect it to be perfectly consistent in every pack. I ordered 5 bags of 10 pounds and each bag either has a lot of black gravel or less. In any case, it was beautiful. I've attached photos of what it…
