Sturdy, comfortable in hand

Handy grips, only gripe is the wire cutters don't work when the .030 Mig filler wire is fully inserted into the jaws. I find I have to adjust the position of the wire away from the base of the blades to cut evenly.

Pros
  • Hands-free operation
Cons
  • Upgrades

Really impressed: Hand tools

Still after just a day of use. These are no ordinary welders. When you hold them in your hands, you can feel that the company took their time in developing them to ensure that any welder would love them. They cut the wire better, get the spatter out of the nozzle better and it's just great, I look forward to using it every day. I have never had any channel blocking products but I am sure I will buy them from now on

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • Older model

Lasted seven days in welding class.

To date I am very satisfied with the form and function of the pliers. I accidentally dropped the pliers and when I picked them up I noticed that the pin connecting the halves of the pliers was broken. The tool is now unusable. Revain says it is an MFG warranty issue after 30 days. MFG replaced the pliers very quickly, so I've raised my rating to 2 stars. With the new pliers I don't see a tiny gap in the cutting part so hopefully the MFG will improve quality control.

Pros
  • Durable workmanship
Cons
  • Useless features

Slightly better in pliers

For the money this is better than most other single lever pliers. 1 lever crimpers are never better than 2 lever crimpers, which are easy on your hands when you have hundreds of crimps to make, but they cost significantly more. For smaller calibers the 909CB is pretty good, but for larger ones I'd say it's about the same as other brands. I was hoping Channelock would come up with something more magical, giving you a lot more leverage (as well as a lot better steel), which by the way they've…

Pros
  • Pleasant
Cons
  • Could have gotten a newer model

These are the best crimping machines I have ever used. Comfort grips are very comfortable. These wire crimpers made a very good, strong crimp. I actually gave my old wire cutters to a friend of mine who is a scrap collector. Yes, my old pliers turned into scrap metal. Once you've used a quality crimping tool like this, you'll never come across a smaller tool. I was so impressed with the quality of the channellock tools that I have since bought about 1/2 dozen more channellock tools. Channellock

Pros
  • Consistent test results
Cons
  • Easily snapped

By far the BEST of the 4 I've tested

Although it's the most expensive, it's WAY BETTER. I've been using one from Harbor Freight for a number of years and the MIG wire cutters have only been "decent". Then I recently got one from my welding supply company (made in China as opposed to most of their products which are made in the USA) and I also ordered an IRWIN model from Revain as well as channel locks. The IRWIN model is also a Chinese made product and, like the Harbor Freight model I use, is at best only "suitable" for cutting…

Pros
  • XLT Xtreme Leverage Technology means it requires significantly less effort when cutting than traditional leverage
Cons
  • Great Price

Would definitely buy again!

Great tool! For a while I was content with a regular fake and hated reaching for it. I've updated my tools over the years but have always had a different priority over them. When it came time to build a roll stand for my 1800 lb CNC machine, I knew I would be in the welding industry and decided to purchase it before the project began. I'm so glad I did! The cutter is sharp and cuts cleanly in one stroke, the teeth grip and hold nozzles and tips without slipping or scraping, and the cleaning…

Pros
  • Grabs and pulls wire, Can hammer, Spring loaded
Cons
  • Long delivery time

Good strong welders

A good strong pair of welders. Won't rip my jets, contact tips or gas diffusers like cheaper brands. Not the cheapest by far, but worth the investment. A good example of "you get what you pay for". In that case you will spend a bit more to buy them for your GMAW/FCAW setup. You end up with a decent pair of pliers/welder that makes life a lot easier. A good example of this. My classmates who bought cheaper pairs struggled to remove their nozzles and gas diffusers. They tear up their consumables…

Pros
  • For installing and removing bushings and nozzles
Cons
  • I don't remember but there was something
