Inexpensive braided belt

I looked around for a long time before I decided on this braided belt. When it arrived I examined it to compare it to similar belts from popular outlets. This belt is just as attractive as the LE and LLB belts, but about 55% cheaper. I've been wearing it daily for about a week and it shows no signs of wear and still looks brand new. I don't think you can go wrong with this product. I plan to order another one or two while they last.

Pros
  • cool product
Cons
  • useless features

I bought this belt because of Levi's braided "leather " belts.

I bought this belt because Levi's braided "leather" belts that I've been buying for years start tearing after a few weeks because they're made of "pressed leather" are. (Think Chicken McNuggets). However, this Columbia belt is made with REAL LEATHER strips. It showed no signs of tearing or even stretching. From now on I will wear this belt and avoid the Levis version.

Pros
  • Best in its niche
Cons
  • Something different

Waste of money: Accessories

Belt lasted about a week ago (that's about 6 months). The band that the pin is sizing on (from the buckle) is about to break. The point is NOT to wear it too tight as I can easily move the pin to the next available hole. It's just bad stuff. Very disappointed in Colombia, I use a respected name. FWIW I'll be 70 next month so if that makes a difference it must be that I'm in the age group where we try to be a little more simple with our possessions. Many Thanks.

Pros
  • Great price
Cons
  • Big and chunky

Good belt but not leather.

It doesn't look like leather, and it doesn't look like real weaving. Being from Portland, I'm a big fan of Columbia and was a bit disappointed. But I'm also a bit wrong - real leather for this price? Come on. On the plus side, the strap looks nice, fits true to size, and has a bit of stretch.

Pros
  • practical item
Cons
  • small things

If you only need it for a few weeks. take action.

The second time I bought this Columbia belt, it broke the second time just a month after I bought it. I would say buyers beware. Cheap plastic faux leather is as soft as crepe paper, and that's what prompted me to buy a second strap when a couple of pieces of the webbing broke. The second strap broke due to the fact that the aforementioned "skin" holds the buckle tongue in place, compared to a typical strap where it rests on a metal rod that is contained within and connected to the buckle…

Pros
  • I like everything so far
Cons
  • Definitely a bad product

I will not order this product again.

The belt description says it is leather. In fact, the skin is only around the buckle. The rest of the belt is made by human hands. Also, I ordered a size 36 and the plastic 'hanger' said '40' and the size listed on the belt was '36' but the actual belt is 45 without the buckle.

Pros
  • Excellent construction
Cons
  • I will add later
