Large Screw with Small Head

This is normal. The problem is that the hole they make is bigger than the head of the screw and it will sink if you don't stop it.

The perfect complement to standard Trex screws

Hidden Trex clamp system uses a 1-5/8" screw that can break in softer woods. hold tight. The biggest problem is finding such a black head cap screw, it is perfect.

Good product overall, top panels are fairly easy to remove

I got these for a very specific job, a 1x4 cedar plank partition/wall that needed some maintenance. It was assembled with finishing nails but fell apart. It's in a very visible area so I wanted a very low profile and minimum of screws and also wanted the color to match so I got them with machined/painted heads.
