Works very well with handling tools

For anyone planning to fish with magnets this is a great place to start. Remember that the strength of the magnetic attraction depends on the ferrous metals and the thickness of the metal. I attached this vertical clamping magnet to a sturdy 800 lb steel table. The only way to remove it was side pull. The motor lift was used to test vertical thrust and it raised the table. It fights thin steel objects when pulled at an angle, such as B. Tin. Overall this is a great magnet that will last for…

Difficult to assess strength realistically

I got what I expected based on the pictures but claims of strength are kind of bullshit. It would be hard to test and it doesn't really relate to how it's supposed to be used. You probably won't be dragging things anywhere to get a nice flat surface for the magnet to fully mate, and then as they point out the full review is that both sides of the magnet aren't really exposed. Picking up random steel items got me frustrated. Even if you remove the tab on the other flat side it won't have the…

Good stuff, but the carbine is weak.

I really like magnet fishing, I've been doing it for a few weeks now and have only found old rusty junk so far, but taking a magnet to new places is fun. It gives me an excuse to explore new rivers and lakes around me and distracts me from whatever is bothering me. Pros: Large magnet. It catches small and medium-sized metal with ease. It's well built and comes with side and top mounting rings for dropping straight down or towing the riverbed. The magnet itself seems well made and solid, I've…
