Works on Chevy Silverado 1500 4x4 with 5.3

Works great, perfect replacement for what broke on my 2000 Chevrolet Silverado with 5.3. Totally life saving and easy to install.

Pros
  • Few competitors
Cons
  • Unbelievable price

FITS 4.8L with modification.

This part CAN fit a 1999 Silverado 4.8L with minor modifications. All you have to do is drill an internally threaded hole that goes onto the throttle body. Be sure to remove the safety clip before you start drilling.

Pros
  • Highly rated by testers for support and durability
Cons
  • Very expensive

Control Wire Holder

This part saved me about $40. The end of the cruise control cable on my Transam 98 broke and the only solution was to replace the entire cable. I saw this $8 zip tie and said it might be worth a try. The retainer required some modifications to fit my application. After enlarging the hole and thinning the holder, it works like it was designed for my car. Cruise control works like new.

Pros
  • Very good value
Cons
  • Without Automatic Control

I was able to piece together a temporary fix, but I knew I had to replace that clip. Since no one is selling this clip separately (as I understand it) for $9, it was a small price to pay. Revine stated that the device as a whole does not fit my Tahoe. I haven't really checked if that's true or not as all I need is a plastic clip. The clip worked great replacing the…

Two fingers down!: Spare parts

Another Dorman junk product. Had to be modified to work. The center of the threaded part is supposed to be hollow for the cable to sit in, but one end was actually solid so I had to drill through it to make it work. And that wasn't the only problem. The cheap plastic clip that is supposed to hold this piece to the throttle worked well until I tried the cruise control for the first time. The cable popped out and I finally modified a pair of steel e-clips to fit the slot. Works NOW as it should…

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • There are nuances
