Description of 🧵 ECHEN 1 Inch PLA Filament

GLOW IN THE DARK: Contains phosphorescent materials that glow in the dark after absorbing light energy. Glowing effect is stronger when exposed to UV light. Please note that too long exposure time may damage the phosphorescent materials contained in the filament. SMOOTHLY PRINT: Echen engineered its Professional 3D Printer filament to strict tolerances and the highest quality standards, ensuring trouble-free operation with your 3D printer and superior results. Good shaping, no bubble, no jamming, no warping. All the glow filaments on the market are a bit brittle, please print with patience and keep the angle smooth when feeding. DIMENSIONAL ACCURACY: 1.75mm filament, diameter variance of no more than 30 microns for consistent feeding and better 3D prints. HIGH COMPATIBILITY: Perfectly compatible with most of the FDM 3D Printer, MakerBot, LulzBot, FlashForge, UP, Printrbot, Solidoodle, Reprap, Mendel, MakerGear. HIGH PERFORMANCE: Orderly wrapped, melt well, feed smoothly and constantly without clogging the nozzle or extruder. Echen PLA filament is the choice of engineers, designers, and anyone else into 3D printing who demands the best.

What if all you ever wanted was GLOW IN THE DARK?!

Gorgeous bright blue colour! In the dark it glows with a very pure blue light, there is no green in it at all. When the light is on, this material appears off-white and somewhat translucent. Every light source I've tried so far has successfully charged the glow effect, including LEDs, fluorescent, CFL, incandescent, and especially sunlight and UV light. Brighter light or more UV light charges the material better for a brighter shine. An LED or black light fluorescent lamp is a great way to…

Pros
  • GLOW IN THE DARK: Contains phosphorescent materials that glow in the dark after absorbing light energy. The luminous effect is enhanced when exposed to UV radiation. Please note that too long an exposure time can damage the phosphorescent materials contained in the filament.
Cons
  • Expensive

Beautiful bright colors!

All three filaments create a very nice glowing effect when the light is off. The second photo shows them after charging, but with the lights on. The third photo shows direct sunlight. As you can see, when the light is on, this material appears off-white and somewhat translucent. Every light source I've tried so far has successfully charged the Glow effect, including LEDs, fluorescent, CFL, incandescent, and especially sunlight and UV light. Brighter light or more UV light charges the material…

Pros
  • HIGH COMPATIBILITY: Perfectly compatible with most FDM, MakerBot, LulzBot, FlashForge, UP, Printrbot, Solidoodle, Reprap, Mendel and MakerGear 3D printers.
Cons
  • Not bad, but...

Beautiful glow-in-the-dark filament

I have the green one. This worked fine for me. I uploaded some photos of a near life size skull printed with filament on my Ender 3. The 20mm test cube is shown to scale. The test cube was the first print and then the skull. I printed it with no slicer adjustments to accommodate the filament other than adding edges. The filament seems to have a slight adhesion issue and I had a few adhesion issues printing the skull until I added the borders. I was impatient as I was dying to see the skull glow

Pros
  • DIMENSIONAL ACCURACY: 1.75mm diameter filament, within 30 microns of diameter variation for smooth feed and better 3D prints.
Cons
  • I don't remember, but there was something
