Worked great on my e46

Allowed me to communicate with all modules. The DLC port below the dash is for general OBDII information only. You need this cable to communicate with other modules and get more detailed data from the PCM.

Pros
  • Great for a small house
Cons
  • poorly thought out

Doesn't work with ista/icom

Doesn't work with ista. I had to remove all the rubbers and reconnect the connector. Except that the obd2 socket couldn't be taken apart, I had to use leftover BMW OEM pins. Came with cables not even connected

Pros
  • Amazing
Cons
  • Has flaws

Easy to use adapter

Besides ease of use, it fits my old OBDC type perfectly. Definitely recommend. It's a little bulky but durable, so it's inconvenient to store. It would be nice if there was a case, it would be better if it also included a scan code reader.

Pros
  • Stable test results
Cons
  • Doubt

Great product in the Tools & Equipment section

Bought this as a gift for my older brother to use with his new Foxwell NT510 OBDI/OBDII scanner for BMW which I also bought for him with that he can connect his scan tool to both OBD ports for full functionality of his child: a '93 BMW 328i 2dr coupe that he has owned from the start. The high-quality adapter allows access to full engine control with its new scanner via a round 20-pin connector under the hood.

Pros
  • Good item
Cons
  • Minor issues

Works on E36 with Foxwell NT510

Works with Foxwell NT510 on E36 M3. I was able to scan the VIN, do an auto scan for installed modules, read trouble codes, and reset the airbag light. The only limitation is the NT510 as it can only read data and reset codes. If you have an earlier model BMW that only passes proprietary tire information to the round connector (basically anything unrelated to DME/Emissions) you will need this adapter.

Pros
  • Works great for me
Cons
  • Having problems

Absolutely perfect: 99 E39

I have a 2003 E39 so I never need it, I've only ever used a 16 pin OBDII to USB cable with PA Soft. I recently bought an additional E39, this time from 1999, which requires a 20-pin connector under the hood, separate from the OBDII connector under the dash (the OBDII connector is only for federal emissions testers). I was skeptical about working with my PA Soft on this, but it looks like a no-brainer. Even works with my Autel MaxiDiag Elite! The cable itself is heavy which I think is a bigโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • Communication with seller

Solid construction and haven't had any major issues other than one;

Unfortunately on this adapter like most adapters the 20 pin #15 is not connected to obd16 pin #1 which is what you need to get a real ignition in INPA/DIS/ Detect SSS replicas. I couldn't program my machine until I soldered a wire between these two. After that everything went smoothly and so far there have been no problems with it. The solder joint on the 20 pin side looks very good and the OBD16 is closed. For general use with a regular scanner I think this is a great giveaway, but if you tryโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Best in its niche
Cons
  • I will add later
