It is transparent thin not as pictured

I have ordered two of these blankets to use when my grandchildren arrive. I am so disappointed that they are thin and the weave is loose. I don't think they will last long and I know they don't get warm. They also have an odor that I think goes away after washing. I will not wash them as I am sending them back. I have some cotton blankets but they are not of the quality I need.

Pros
  • understandable even for the old
Cons
  • functionality

Good duvet, but not very good either

I agree with that, but I don't agree either. This is a good lightweight blanket, soft but the seams around the edge came undone after the first wash. Luckily I'm a seamstress so I was able to sew it together. Also, I've washed it 2-3 times and the big chunks of lint that comes off every time is amazing. I have a beige carpet that has blue fluff all over it. So this is a good blanket, but with some annoyances.

Pros
  • Complete set
Cons
  • Not as thick as the other options

Decent product for the price

I manage vacation rentals and have purchased 96 of these for all beds. They need to be washed weekly, shrink and won't stand up to frequent washing. Some of them were more tightly woven than others. Those that are "weakly” woven fall apart. These are excellent short term disposable blankets. Reminds me of hospital blankets. For the price I think you get a decent product. But don't plan on frequent washing if you want them to last a long time. They are soft and light.

  • Quick replacement

Unless you want fluff all over the place, stay away!

This is the worst! I washed two of these and got about a pound of lint. I hope this didn't ruin my dryer! It took 10 minutes to wipe the lint off the washing machine. So many piles everywhere. I shook them in the street and my garden looks like someone spilled the blueberries there are so many clumps. Imagine what that would do to my sheets and other bedding. There is no quality control for this product. They're coming back as soon as I can get them back! Buyer Warning.

Pros
  • Wide range
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging

They shrink: Duvets and bedspreads

These duvets shrink quite a bit, so go up a size or wash in cold water and line dry the air. I have a king and it fits my queen bed well. I have washed and dried several times and always on the hottest settings due to dust mite sensitivity. Shrinking means the blanket becomes thicker and stiffer than it was before it was washed. They can be stretched a little when lying on the bed. I have found that they shrink to a point and then stay there. They also lose a lot, but over time they become…

Pros
  • Testers give high marks for support and durability
Cons
  • Not as good as they say

Worst duvet I've ever bought.

When I found the Grand Hotel 100% cotton oversized duvets on your site I was excited and bought them. I didn't use them straight away but loved them out of the box and on our bed. One thing that was important is my husband who worries about how the comforters feel. After a while I had to push our bed out completely and do a spring cleaning. Now I assure you that I followed the washing and drying instructions for these comforters and was COMPLETELY SHOCKED when I found my washing machine was…

Pros

Ideal for duvets and bedspreads

As mentioned in some other reviews, the comforter runs small. I ordered 3 king beds and they are more like queens that fit two beds as they are queens but the other duvet is too small for our king bed. It works but doesn't go too far down the sides of the mattress. These are comfortable comforters and good quality. Would I buy again but not for the king. Order one size larger. Update: I changed my score from two to four. These blankets are not worth what I paid for. They become too small and…

Forget the NIGHTMARE!

I ordered this plum duvet although it was more burgundy than my other various shades of purple bedding. As soon as I opened it, I put the comforter in the washing machine along with some darker clothes. Big mistake! To my dismay after opening the washing machine when the cycle was complete. Because of what was left of the blanket, there were tons of tiny fibers all over my clothes. All clothes were covered with pile, like dust. There were even clusters of fibers of all sizes, from small to…
