Maybe okay, but not the freshest.

These batteries were the cheapest and probably workable. But they don't have the latest "Use By" dates. The dates for the one I just received was 18 months from receipt (3/19). The dates for those currently at Walmart are one year later (3/20).

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • Not sure

Not exactly what you get

Photo shows Energizer Zero Mercury A23 batteries. So I thought I would buy A23 MERCURY batteries. However, the name Energizer says Zero Mercury Alkaline Batteries A23. I received Energizer ALKALINE A23 batteries. NO mercury in them. Don't believe the photo and don't believe the words.

Pros
  • practical item
Cons
  • so far so good

Expired Household Goods

All packaging is crumpled and has 'Use By 03-2019' written in microscopic writing. I'm not sure when they were made, but most batteries these days have a shelf life of five to ten years, so they've obviously been on the shelf for four to nine years. It's unlikely I'll need them next year, so I can only hope they don't die by the expiration date. Ironically, I bought from Amazon rather than a local store hoping to avoid this very issue!

Pros
  • Grand Prize
Cons
  • Large and Bulky
