Description of Ford 4.6L/5.4L/6.8L 3V Engine Repair Tools Kit: Valve Spring Compressor, Crankshaft Positioning Tool, Cam Phaser Holding Tool, Cam Phaser Lockout Kit, Timing Chain Locking Tool, and Pulley Bolt

Cam Phaser Lockout Kit: Noise solution kit Locks the phasers into a fixed position and the ticking noise stops completely. Eliminate the noise and prevent it from reoccurring in the future. Timing Chain Locking Tool: This tool Kit helps you finish camshaft or cam phaser changes without losing chain tension and solve the noise problem. Consists of firm metal rod and hard lemon yellow plastic wedge. Valve Spring Compressor tool: Allows you to replace rocker arms, lash adjusters, and other valve components without removing the camshaft. Please make sure the arm that pushes on the spring retainer has a clear path downward. If this arm gets hung up on cast-in features of the head while attempting to compress the valve spring, undue stress may be put on the tool. Cam Phaser Holding&Locking Tool: Installed to torque the camshaft phaser boltto specifications according to the vehicle servicemanual and make your job much easier. Crankshaft Positioning tool: Position the crankshaft at top dead center for correct timing chain installation. Do not rotate the crankshaft and/or camshaft(s) when removing the timing chain(s) and installing the cylinder heads.

Poor quality valve train tools

Valve spring compression tool does not work! The forked end of the tool slides off the cam as the handle is turned. Wouldn't recommend it.

Pros
  • Build quality
Cons
  • Something else

This is junk. suitable for tools and equipment

The compression of the valve springs is so weak that the second valve is bent. In fact, you can bend it with your fingers. Don't waste money. Spend a little more and buy better tools.

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Unsafe

Buy a higher quality item

Valve spring compressor not screwed in enough. It is very difficult to get down to business and start. The tongues broke off after the fourth spring. Better spend your money on higher quality

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Not as thick as other picks

The top of the bolt did not engage the threads of the tool resulting in a lot of play. I had to sharpen the tool to get the threads to hook. The metal lost its integrity after about 20 uses and was unable to compress the springs as the tool simply buckled. I bought a similar compressor from another store, same design, no problems.

Pros
  • great product
Cons
  • upgradeable

Improperly manufactured tools

The valve compressor tool does not work with the valve fully closed, which is the main purpose of this tool, it doubles the repair time and wastes money! The crank alignment tool couldn't properly reach the locating pin on the block, the only tool that worked properly was the cam hold tool! After several hours of modifications, the valve compressor now works almost correctly! As if everything done for the 3-valve was completely wrong and a waste of money.

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Everything OK

POS valve compression tool, not worth buying.

Lucky tool finally arrived in the mail, made it to the store and was ready to finish timing. When I first started using the valve compression tool I started struggling, I tried my best and even practiced on an old cylinder head, I had to see if I was doing something wrong and NO! fkking is disappointed to have waited so long for a poor quality POS tool had I known I would have bought the OEM no matter the price. Now I have to change it and hope it works. It's a good set and cheap, but that's…

Pros
  • Great price
Cons
  • Some bugs

Sorry but don't buy it.

Made a 5.4 3v cam phaser with this tool. The valve spring compressor is too short. There was also a crack in the casting half the width of a penny. It was too short to tighten the valve. I twisted it and bent it badly and it helped, but not well enough to use properly. As a result, he pulled out and reinserted the cams and also made the timing chains, while fitting all the rockers instead. Manually locking the camshafts and slowly tightening the caps was much easier than using this tool. Also…

Pros
  • This is amazing
Cons
  • Easy repairability
