I had a 25ft Revain cable with a black rubber base. it was a nightmare, he was all tangled up and even after he straightened himself he would remember confusion and bewilderment again. Then he stopped working. THIS cable is fabric covered and much stiffer. This cable isn't as small as a rubber-coated cable for travel, but is better suited for stationary use.

I connect the cable to Fire TV when I want to fully hear my TV. My neighbors are sometimes noisy and I live half a block from the train tracks - he honks at several intersections. More than once, what was said on TV was lost as a result. Aux extension cord helps block everything. The only thing I notice is an airless "hiss" when I plug it in. I hardly notice it when playing audio.

So it's been almost a year since I bought this cable and while it's better than another brand I've bought I'm disappointed that it now start cutting. Apparently the problem is where the cord enters the outlet. I'm not sure how to prevent this with the other one, but since it's cheap I'll probably buy it again when this one finally stops working completely.

When I received this cable I was thrilled to see that it had become more durable. I installed it (ran it through multiple conduits in the room) and had no problems.
