Poor quality tools and equipment

Follower roller removal tool was junk. The bends were not formed in a way that would engage the threads and compress the valve spring. When delivered, this tool from the set did not physically work. I spent a lot of time modifying the tool to make it work, but it broke on the spot. Get an OTC tool.

  • Good product for the price

Almost didn't fit

Roller slide tool almost didn't fit. We adjusted and pulled out the exhaust tappets and then adjusted to remove the intake tappets, rotated the shaft and repeated the process. In the end we broke the instrument and got a replacement. All other tools fit perfectly. All in all it was good value for money.

  • Great price
Cons

For now! Timing Belt Tools

If you want to time your Ford 5.4L 3V then these are the tools you need unless you have a calibrated old eye of our gorilla power. All in all a very good product for the stock to sell individually. I was able to fully set the time on my F150 and it works better than before.

The valve compressor was cheap and difficult to use

First I would like to say that the cam locking mechanism worked well and I had no problems with it. But the valve spring compression tool is not good at all. I could use multiple valves but if I had to bend the tool in a vise to even work. After a few valves, the tool began to bend so much that it could no longer function. So I went back to the vise to bend it back into place and it broke! Very disappointed with this particular tool. I then bought a more expensive $37 valve compression tool and

Valve spring tensioner does not quite fit

Valve spring tensioner worked perfectly after about 20 minutes of fine grinding. The foot is too large to fit all areas of the cylinder head and needs to be downsized. I removed about 1/4 inch from the tabs and the ball bearing cap on top also had to be ground to give the spring compressor enough travel to clear the rocker arm. In addition, the machining of the covers created burrs that had to be removed at the point where the ball bearing moves. Also, the bearing itself had to be flattened a…

DON'T BUY FOR 5.4L 3V ROCKER TOOL - SHIT!

I pray the crankshaft positioning tool is accurate (work in progress). Rockers - complete garbage. I bought the OTC Rocker Tool and wanted it as a backup. just in case. Welp I dropped the cap on otc and lost it for a while. decided to continue working with this tool. The cap screw is missing approximately 3/8" female threads, rendering this tool useless as it will not grip the shaft to depress the valve spring. It has never been used or removed. It's just rubbish. buy official TOOL OTC6684. DO…

  • Great for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Hard to tell

The valve compressor is broken bullshit the crank position tool is too small

I had to clean the keyway inside before it was on the crank head as the paint interfered with installation. It wasn't a big problem, but also the hole at the end of the positioning tool didn't match the pin sticking out of the block. I could have drilled a bigger hole but I got it close enough. Not the end of the world, but before attempting to get a crank kit, check that the end of the hole will fit over the dowel pin and see if you want to widen the hole in the tool. ***Update*** 1 star…
