Description of πŸ› οΈ Forney 60028 2-Inch Mounted Grinding Wheel

Max RPM is 25, 420. Use with 1/4-Inch chuck for high speed drills. Shank mounted points and grinding wheels are made from durable high grade 60 grit aluminum oxide. Especially useful where larger wheels will not fit or where small abrasive wheels wear out too quickly.

The grinding head served its purpose, namely .

The abrasive head has done its job of enlarging the opening on a self-propelled mower to fit a trailer hitch. However, as expected, it was difficult to sharpen.

Excellent sharpening

I love this sharpening. Strong Enough To Keep It Going We cut lots of 3/4 inch EMT tubing and straightened the ends straight away. (added 10-4-13) After using a few of these we started having problems with the stone breaking off the spindle. We use them in a hand drill.

Pros
  • Industrial & Scientific
Cons

High Speed Imbalance

I've bought several of these and they are all horribly unbalanced. The tool vibrates heavily above 1500 rpm, which makes fine sanding difficult. I ended up balancing one of these fairly well by mounting the shaft on a lathe, spinning it at about 150 RPM, and then lightly sanding the surface with a 4.5 inch angle grinder. Now the grind point works pretty well, but it took some effort. to bring him into this state.
