worked as expected, good for welding and soldering

Worked as expected. I made pine wood derby weights out of wheel weights. It removed contaminants as expected. I just wish it came in a smaller size. I have enough flux left over to make about 1000 scales.

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • weak

Half the flux ended up on the table and I also ordered a large number of primer feeds in it. So I haven't received my Flux now and my feeders need to be replaced or OCD cleaned as any speck of dirt or dust when reloading can and will cause problems with the feed.

Pros
  • Lots of positive emotions
Cons
  • No result

Really clean cast

When I first started casting bullets a few years ago, all we needed for flux was beeswax or Alox. This did a poor job of cleaning the melt and contributed to scaling in the kettle. These new white metal fluxes provide a cleaner melt and higher quality shot. They do not burn and smoke development during fluxing is minimized. Vitrified slag is easily removed from the melt. highlighted.

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Miscellaneous Miscellaneous

Excellent flux, but hygroscopic!

I've been using Brownell's version of Frankford Arsenal Flux for over 20 years and it's excellent for those of us who need to pour indoors. Contrary to what others have said, it will not rust or clog cast pots or ball molds. However, it is hygroscopic, meaning it absorbs water easily. So if you live in a humid climate, keep the jar tightly closed (and place in an airtight plastic bag, just in case!).

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • New Competitors

Excellent flux for soldering and soldering equipment

I recently tried this flux for the first time and it works exceptionally well. I was impressed by how much crap it pulls out of lead compared to other fluxes. I recently rebuilt a couple of silver alloy Oregon Trail bullets which should have been pretty clean given the company's reputation. I steamed the grease off of them and then washed them with industrial degreaser and lots of hot water so I know I didn't inject anything. I pulled out about half the crap I could pull out of scrap lead with…

Pros
  • Absolute Legend
Cons
  • Great Price
