Random discounts. I do not recommend!

Spent 600 dollars on this crap. It turns off every time I use it. It cost me a lot of wasted time. The USB connection is easy to disconnect if you hit it, and it's easy to accidentally disconnect during use. Wouldn't recommend it.

Pros
  • Stable test results
Cons
  • Will write later

Total garbage is best in external SSDs

Bad USB connection. Half the time it's unreadable. It falls out in the middle when you use it. It looks like something has come loose in the USB port. I bought the 2TB version for $800 and I want to throw it out the window. Not for professional use. Unreliable junk.

Pros
  • Satisfied so far
Cons
  • Some issues

Light, strong and fast - almost perfect. Almost

I found out after seeing G-Drive ev RaW at the Blackmagic Design conference in Chicago. We had the opportunity to work with them there and check the build quality so I knew what I was getting. It's almost identical to LaCie's rugged hard drive systems, but weighs about 1/3 the weight. The trade-off is that you get an SSD in a hard plastic case instead of aluminum, but the G-Technology version's bumper system offers more cushioning. In my case, the lower weight is worth it. My drive cameโ€ฆ

The perfect ground drive

The perfect ground drive. I bought it to film a Marching Band event recently where I took several thousand photos of about 80 performances. I set up a new Lightroom catalog to import images throughout the day. The import was pretty quick. The drive feels nice and sturdy, but is still compact enough for travel. Back home, I imported photos from my travel directory into my permanent directory on my G-Drive G-Speed Studio setup at my office for faster editing and archiving.

Pros
  • Quick change
Cons
  • Almost never

Complete junk for external SSDs

USB connection is faulty. Half the time it's unreadable. It falls out in the middle when you use it. It looks like something has come loose in the USB port. I bought the 2TB version for $800 and I want to throw it out the window. Not for professional use. Unreliable junk.

Pros
  • Easy installation
Cons
  • There are more interesting options.
