Great phone but not for long

We got this phone about 3 years ago. In the last month the buttons started to malfunction. You can push and push the button and maybe it will work on the third try. Finally a cell phone again. Like everything today, it is unsustainable. However, the price makes it less painful to have to buy another one so quickly.

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • Some little things

If I were allowed to put zero stars, I would.

This phone is a total waste of money. As others have described, the battery lasts MAYBE 5 minutes on one charge. Forget it if you don't put it back on the charger when you hang up. Next time you dial the number it will be dead. I will speak for several minutes. The beeps are really annoying, as is the ringtone and overall volume. I can't get a new WiFi fast enough.

  • Easy setup

Trust all the other one star reviews

This phone is a piece of crap. Did you know that cordless phones need to be charged for at least 12 hours before they can be used? Well I've charged this phone for over 48 hours and it STILL won't let you talk to it. No beep, no use of keyboard; The receiver does not even turn on when you press the TALK button. Leave it on the shelf and save some money. Anthony Rupert

ERROR MESSAGES in the fixed network

I have not bought any of these phones. Consumer Reports named this phone a "Best Buy". I don't think you can believe everything you read. After the dog ate one of our two cordless phones, I went in search of a new one. After reading these reviews, I can say that this model will not be. I still have GE 21006GE3-A. I can say that it holds a charge forever, has an adjustable volume. But it's no defense against a big dog.

Cheap Piece Of Shit

This phone sucks. The battery does not hold a charge, which leads to disconnection and a serious deterioration in the situation. GE should be ashamed of offering such junk. Don't buy this phone because it's cheap like I did. You will end up spending a lot of money on new batteries or need to buy a new phone in just a few months, which I will do today. This time I chose Panasonic! As a note, my GE fridge is a piece of shit too

Big disappointment in office electronics

Man we were disappointed with this GE phone! We did everything right - first we "trained” the battery, made sure it was charged regularly, never dropped or abused this phone, and one fine day it stopped holding a charge. We couldn't understand. It worked fine for about a year and then broke completely just like other reviewers have said. We had a 10 year old Toshiba that was so amazing and reliable to its unfortunate end when we bought this loser. Are there good cell phones anywhere?

  • Great price
Cons
  • Big and bulky

Good phone for me, good for phones and accessories

I bought two of these phones in March 2004. They worked great right out of the box and I've never had a problem with any of them. You have a wonderful reach; I can go outside and keep a good connection. I've never had any problems with sound quality or static. And I don't have any of the problems that other people report. The batteries in both are still alive and well after almost six years. Maybe I was one of the lucky ones and got some of the first ones produced and the quality dropped (or…

  • This is amazing

There are no problems here. Best in Office Electronics

I have had this phone for many years. I liked it so much that I bought a similar model with fewer bells and whistles (no display). Both have worked well for years. I had this on a regular phone line and then a MagicJack for a couple of years and then I deleted it. Recently bought and revived an OBIhai device. Yes, at that moment I needed a new battery, but after several years of inactivity this was to be expected. Also, as reported in some reviews, the buttons were difficult to use, but…
