Best Insulation in Spark Plugs and Wires

Bought but never used as I was suspicious of the insulation - it just seemed too soft and I haven't found another automotive primary wire with the same. 30 amps in #10 can get hot and 30 amps can start a fire so that's not an option. That may be a good thing, but with this caliber and power you don't take unnecessary risks.

Pros
  • Spark Plugs and Wires
Cons
  • -

As already mentioned, the only thing about these wires is that they are slightly smaller than the declared . After reading these comments I bought a size up so I have the wire gauge I want. Only thing is the insulation is thick, which I like, but makes the wire overall bulkier than it should be.

  • wires
Cons
  • I don't remember, but there was something

The Truth About 10 Gauge or Less

There has been a lot of talk about 10 Gauge or Less. I'm a machinist and I deal with 0.01 all the time. I googled 10 gauge diameter and google said 0.1019 (0.102). Now Google 11-Gauge says it's 0.0907. I measured this Grand General and measured 0.094. It's 0.008 less than 10 gauge, 0.003 more than 11 gauge So this wire is closer to 11 gauge For the price it's a great deal Wire is soft and very flexible Looks very much like copper

  • Automobile
Cons
  • Exorbitant Price

Good wire for your automotive or home projects

This spool of wire arrived exactly as advertised. Easy to take off, easy to cut, and easy to use (with the right tools for this sort of thing), it feels solid and well made - even the coil itself seems pretty solid, enough that I plan to use it once the wire is finished It. to coil any decent length of unused wire for safekeeping. I have used this cable on both my sedan and truck with no problems and plan to continue using it until it runs out and then order a new one.

Cons
  • I will add later

Regular wire but between 12 and 13 AWG, NOT 10 AWG

The first photo compares the 10 AWG wire I have to this wire. This wire is much thinner. So I took it to work (I'm an electrical engineer) and measured the resistance of a 25ft coil (didn't check the length). This is most accurately done with a high current source. I put 6A through the cable and measured 0.2843V on it. The result is 0.2843/6A = 0.0474 ohms or 1.895 mฮฉ/ft. According to Wikipedia, a 10 AWG wire should have a resistance of 0.9989 mฮฉ/ft. This occurs between 12 and 13 AWG. Veryโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Single wire
Cons
  • Clarity
