Not ready for July 2019 prime time

The firmware is slow and the interface is really bad. Not a company, not even a prosumer, but the price definitely doesn't beat the alternative. Back to the seller who responded very well, all things considered.

Pros
  • Feels good
Cons
  • Some minor issues

Network Upgrade - Wireless Access Points

Decided not to install ASUS (AC68U and 1200 Extender). I work in engineering and have experience with several companies such as Ubiquiti. It was between them and Grandstream when it mattered. After installing this Access Point 7630 in 1600 SQ. FT. At home, I immediately noticed a difference in coverage and overall performance with just one AP. The user interface is nice, although it takes some learning at first, but that's okay. I connected this AP to a 7600LR in my garage and now I haveโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • Could have chosen a newer model

Incredible deal for the specs; Great home WiFi setup

I had a single Unifi UAP-AC-LR access point that served both floors of my home and I wanted to add a second access point to improve coverage downstairs . Rather than buying another UAP-AC-LR I decided to try this GWN7630 as it is a Wave 2 access point and supports 802.3af/at PoE/PoE+ (I think newer UAP-AC hardware versions -LR support the PoE standard, not mine). I've had hotspots for a few weeks and am happy so far. I connected them to a TP-Link TL-SG1016PE switch and had no issues with PoE+โ€ฆ

  • Durable test results

Nice device - dodgy seller

It's like a great AP. Lots of good videos and reviews. I received this from an Always Connected provider and the device has been used. It was well packaged and visually perfect, but when I turned it on and went to setup, the AP was already configured with SSIDs. I understand returns, but I didn't order or pay for a 'refurbished' unit, so I shouldn't ship it.

Pros
  • Fingers crossed
Cons
  • Something's wrong

Creates great Wi-Fi hotspots

A reliable performer with a controller built into the product's web UI. Easy setup and management. I've had great success with other Grandstream products and this one definitely won't disappoint.

Pros
  • Don't waste too much time
Cons
  • May damage

Excellent powerful WiFi router

The Grandstream 7630 which I bought in late 2020 and have owned for about seven months is by far the best WiFi router I have ever owned. It does everything as advertised and covers my whole house. It also looks like a flying saucer and glows with a matching sci-fi blue light (seriously!)

Pros
  • Good
Cons
  • Doubtful

Jumped with Ubiquiti

I just jumped with Ubiquiti after getting burned on it too many times to count, very refreshing experience. I bought a GWN7630 and replaced it where my Unifi NanoHD was. The speed is 100-200Mbps faster instantly, stable and constant. I still have a second NanoHD in the back of the house and all the clients in my house jumped from it to the GWN7630 lol. The cloud management interface is intuitive and provides all the features you need to successfully set up an access point. I am a very happyโ€ฆ
