Grant Products 404 Challenger Wheel Review

The rivets are not black, they are silver, the wood is a little lighter than in the photo. Overall good quality for the price. I painted mine to make the wood grain look darker and used a marker to make the rivets appear black. It turned out beautifully and went really well with my '67 Puma. Basically satisfied. Installation was easy too.

I like this steering wheel. Bought to replace an old giant factory wheel on my Chevy 76. The paint is disgusting and the edges on these wheels are sharp so I sanded everything really well and applied a bit of dark Kona stain and a few coats of matte clear coat. I think it was well received and looks good on the truck. Also, its circumference is about an inch smaller than the original.

What can I say, but the grant is permanent. I'm replacing an identical wheel and there are several in the park. A great looking replacement, the wood looks darker than older models. The only caveat is that if you lean on it too hard, the wood will splinter where it meets the riser. Unless you're a 300 lb gorilla (like my drivers) you should be fine.

This is a really nice steering wheel, got it from another buyer so it didn't have a screw but everything else was in great condition. Cons are that it comes in a very different color but a little sanding and staining of your choice makes it worth buying, another thing is the horn wiring doesn't match my 87 f150 and the instructions could be better but other than that ok, don't forget to buy a mounting kit as well
