Can't go wrong with gp

I use it every day. You can't go wrong with gp if you're a casual mechanic like me or a home mechanic. The best part is that my friend said he would take care of my warranty with them.

Pros
  • Great overall performance
Cons
  • I vaguely remember

Perfect for heavy duty everyday use

The price and quality of these tips is amazing, I don't even know why I've been using chrome snaps my whole life, these are my new tips for everyday use. They fit very well and are very strong.

Pros
  • Confident
Cons
  • Secret

3/8 socket set has size printed on sockets instead of stamped

1/4" and 1/2" are stamped with socket size. I'm amazed why the 3/8 socket set is printed and not stamped so the imprint wears off after some use.

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Questionable senior purchase

Great set, impact resistant and clearly labeled

I was a little worried about the labeling but they are well labeled and well stamped even after 5 years I am still wearing the label can still see them. I like the compact body and it's easy enough to carry the ratchet in my tool chest with this set and save space by having a second drawer.

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Could have chosen a newer model

Best value for money for daily use.

I am a mechanic and have been involved with wrenches for over 10 years. I only broke ONE of these outlets. I've ordered another set to take home. Are there better outlets? Of course. But for the money they rule. If you use sockets occasionally, you might get by cheaper, but for everyday use. I can't be wrong

Pros
  • Consistent test results
Cons
  • Quality

Laser Engraved and Stamped Sockets (May 20, 2019)

Pictures of these sockets online make you wonder if they are stamped. Now, you! (At least mine were). And from stories I hear some sets had duplicates - I checked mine and they were all there (none were missing or duplicated). 4 out of 5 because I haven't used it yet - maybe 5 if I've been using it for over a year. .CheersNote: The photos show the 1/2" set, but they were identical for the 3/8" set. Stamped and etched.

Pros
  • cool product
Cons
  • Something different

Best value for money. If you used matco adv they are identical. I was told the promotional line used to be made with gray pneumatics, but they feel and look identical. Matching finish, looks, shape, screws fit better, even than most of the most expensive ones I have, maybe others are worn out, bought these to replace lost sockets. I work with a refrigerated trailer, HVAC so this case is perfect, you can keep it handy, they do spill from time to time, but much nicer than big left behind boxes…

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Quick start guide

The guarantee is a joke!

I bought these sockets because I thought they were very good value for money. They seemed to work well and I was comforted by the GP's "lifetime guarantee". But after only using them for about 6 months I started having problems with the ones I use the most (10mm, 13mm etc) where they slip off the screw heads or round off. You can wiggle them at the head of the screw and feel how loose they are compared to the others. So I went to their website to find out how to replace them under warranty and…

Pros
  • Good
Cons
  • Obsolete
