Excellent edge finder/trample tool

Zeroes the spindle much easier than other edge finders. The 3/4 inch shank is also very handy (not metric). I used it to attach my vise to the spindle and then checked the toolpath with the specified (new) vise. I can now set this value (or 0) and run through a vise to check one end and pull across. Trust but verify

I think it's SUPER! In practice, it leaves much to be desired. I started calibrating the center but the set screws were too tight to turn. When I called Haimer I was told that they usually come from the factory with an overtightened bolt on the end of the shaft. I took her advice and loosened the bolt and then re-torqued it to her spec. I was animated when it initially looked like it would fix the issues. After recalibration everything worked. After a few uses I noticed that my toolpath was not

Great taster, instruction manual required. As.

Very good tool, but without English instructions. Written by a person whose native language is not English, therefore idioms and words do not translate well. Also, the runout zeroing instructions almost certainly leave out that you must loosen the socket head cap screw (SCS) in the shank just enough for the four opposing screws to bring the eccentricity ("concentricity") of the head to zero (DO NOT EXCEED TORQUE) . .
