Good start, change possible.

I bought two of these to use with Swiss/German NATO fuel tanks. My glasses have an offset spout. The straps couldn't accommodate this so I had to straighten one side of the jet cross. Full gas cans expanded and began to fit snugly at the entrance and exit. The lid straps are decent steel, but they attach to the ring at the back with a hook rather than a fixed full loop. This allowed the hook to be bent right out of the loop, defeating the entire purpose of the tie down, and not enough metal to…

Great only for old school canisters

This item did not fit in my Zepter ECO military style canister or my 5 gallon emergency canister. I had to make the following modifications to make it fit: 1) Remove the bottom of the podium (where the canister stood) 2) Cut the entire length of the block in half and weld an extension about 1/2" "on to make the product wider 3) sand everything down and repaint 4) add sticky foam to make extra room so the top clamp is in contact with both sides of the canister (otherwise it won't hold it…

The low price was the main advantage of this can holder. It has a few thin plastic straps at some points of contact with the glass, but not the thicker plastic or rubber pads that many similar but more expensive mounts have. There is a regular plate welded to the retaining metal band that goes across the top of the tank to prevent people from opening the lid and venting the gas, but the placement of the plate on this model was for my official NATO Wavian 5 -Gallon style wrong . . canister, and…
