**Rating changed, Doesn't withstand outdoors

New part, less than 4 months later the plastic part is falling off due to outdoor exposure to the sun. See photo, I'm really disappointed with the product as it costs almost $70 and seems to use cheap plastic. I went to the Honeywell website to look at the warranty and essentially what you have to do is mail the old product or call 800 or fax. There is no email or posting a photo online to show the problem. I use this as a pool alarm to prevent my two toddlers from accessing the pool…

Pros
  • Consistent results in test
Cons
  • Could have chosen a newer model

Perfect outdoor sensor

I rarely write reviews but I constantly see so many people wondering if they will work with their control panel that I feel compelled to narrow your search for a solution. I have a GE Simon control panel. and about 40 GE sensors throughout my house. I wanted to add sensors to the front gate in the courtyard, but GE doesn't have any weather/waterproof sensors. I kept seeing these HW sensors online and called several HW dealers to see how I could get them to work with GE Simon and they all said…

Pros
  • cool product
Cons
  • Something different

Very good assortment

Very good so far. I bought four of these to install four external gates in my apartment building and connect to my 2GB panel. Two of the four gates are quite a distance from HQ with the farthest being probably over 200ft away so I was a little worried they would have range without a repeater. So far (I've had them running for about a week and I'll update this review if I run into any issues) they haven't had any range issues. Assembly was very easy with the supplied screws on the aluminum gate.

Pros
  • Impressive
Cons
  • boring packaging
