Better than other AirPlay speakers I've bought!

I had a B&W A5 that I bought and had to return because it kept losing connection to the network. When he decided to work, this B&W filled the room with sound. This iHome has no 'balls' to 'fill the room with sound', but it has never lost its network connection! And it's wearable. I carry it from room to room and out onto the patio. How cool is that? I had the same network connection problem with another iHome speaker and I gave it to my daughter, she wanted to use it wired. Husband downloadedโ€ฆ

Wi-Fi setup was easy, sound is great

I don't understand why so many people are having trouble connecting this speaker to their WiFi networks. It's literally as simple as plugging in an iDevice and accepting a dialog asking you to share your network configuration with the speaker. Once set up, it appears and behaves like any other AirPlay speaker. The sound is good, if you download the free app for iDevice you can adjust the treble, bass, etc. I bought this to broadcast voice notifications for home automation, but it works forโ€ฆ

A few questions. - Portable bluetooth speakers

Really good sound. Average connectivity. As with almost all broadcast speakers, there can be a little popping at times. In cases where it stops indefinitely, I put it to sleep mode and then turn it back on and that's enough to get playing again. Lasts only a few seconds. Being able to have one speaker in multiple rooms and just press a button on top and choose which rooms you want to play in is well worth the hassle and still makes it superior to Bluetooth. However, setting up these things with

Very good when sold in bulk.

I love everything about this speaker except the sound. what I like. Bear with me. Often a gadget like this will grab the headlines but lose them in the details. I have a feeling this speaker is picking on details. Buttons just right at the top. The sleep button even pulses like Apple's sleep LEDs of the past. It looks great, connects securely, and you can rename it through the iHome app (which is why mine shows up as "Monolith" in my AirPlay menu). The charging station is great and theโ€ฆ

Big. Not perfect, but no.

Great sound for the money. Sometimes there are issues with AirPlay, but I think this is a Wi-Fi issue, not iHome. If you can bypass the occasional Wi-Fi mute, this is a phenomenal speaker. I like playing iTunes on multiple speakers at the same time, so I need AirPlay (not just Bluetooth). Setup is easy and for the size and price, the sound is really great. I like the easy charging dock and handy grip on the back under the rim of the speaker tip. Truly grab hours of great sound from anywhere inโ€ฆ

Great sound and reliability. Especially considering the price

This product was purchased after trying 3 other radio speakers. We tried Samsung, I think Phillips and Bose. With all the other products we found we didn't have to pay ยฃ250 for a device that intermittently connects to the internet and has average sound. The sound of the Samsung was much worse. The sound of this unit was on par with others and it only cost $50. I put off writing a review as I was planning to use the device for more than a month. After a summer of moving it from the bedroom dockโ€ฆ

Bought a second good for portable speakers and docking stations

After a satisfying experience with our first speaker we bought a second for our living room. The devices are of high quality and the sound quality is more than sufficient. We keep ours plugged in for the most part, but a basic charger/AC adapter is fantastic and we get around 3 hours of battery life. As in the first case, the installation wasn't as easy as it could be. Connecting to the iPhone and transferring the network settings did not work. I downloaded the iHome app (Method #2) and did itโ€ฆ

You have to select the Wi-Fi connection manually

I changed my rating from 1 star to 3 stars. My first complaint was that this device stopped working properly from time to time due to a connection issue. Last week I connected my iPhone to the device with a USB cable. Then I start the iHome app and set up the device's WiFi connection manually. That is, use the iPhone app to manually select the Wi-Fi connection and enter the password. Then it worked perfectly. But a few days later the problem reappeared. So I did the manual setup of the networkโ€ฆ

Great little speaker - TIP for AirPlaying from your iPhone, iPod

I really liked this speaker and am very happy with the sound. The problem was that setting it up via the iHome app is a bit of a hassle. First I charged the device. No problem. The next step was to download the iHome app for free via iTunes. Once installed, connect the cable from the speaker to your device (I had an iPhone 4S). Here you can select your network and enter your password. My problem was that it seemed to freeze at this point. I knew I was connected to my Wi-Fi network because theโ€ฆ
