Easy to use/easy to break

Locks arrived very quickly. Easy to read instructions and easy to reset. However, it was also very easy for my husband to break down. He pulled the bolt from its socket and simply pulled the case towards him by the lock.

Pros
  • Easy to install
Cons
  • Annoying

Finally a lock that won't fall apart!

I've bought tons of TSA locks over the years. Baggage handlers picked almost all of my locks when dropping bags and most of them snapped or caught on objects and broke. These castles are the exception. Since using them, I've actually picked up my luggage without worrying about it being missing. They are durable, easy to use, have a very strong locking mechanism and will not damage the case if caught on foreign objects.

  • Always liked
Cons
  • Not bad

Combinations of numbers that are too difficult to read

These are good, reliable locks. But we had great trouble seeing the rooms to open the locks when we arrived at our destination at night. We tried the light on our iPhone and it just bounced off and we still couldn't read the numbers. Finally, in bright light, we carried the luggage to the tiny bathroom. Still hard to read, but at least we opened the bags. We bought other locks from the same manufacturer with black and white numbers at the same time and they were easy to read and easier to setโ€ฆ

  • quick change

They worked great on our trip to Europe

They worked great on our trip to Europe. As we flew home, TSA opened two of our suitcases. When we collected our suitcases, one of the locks had an alarm light on it and the other suitcase was missing a second lock. We found it in a suitcase when we got home and it appears to have been broken by the Transportation Security Administration. It got stuck in the open position and we couldn't close it. We emailed the company to see if they had any ideas on how to fix the problem and to our surpriseโ€ฆ

The best locks for luggage!

These locks were THE BEST! I received them just in time for my holiday trip. They were easy to adjust and true to size. Not too big, but big enough to easily find all the "stuff" in your luggage when not in use. And I love the fact that when the TSA opens and checks your bags, there's a little indicator on the locks. TravelMore wrote to me twice to make sure I was completely satisfied. Good service! The only problem is that Revane sent the wrong color. I ordered orange (to match my orangeโ€ฆ

First thoughts and attempts. in update

checked 1 of 4 and so far. really cool. I haven't checked the TSA Intrusion Indicator yet, but I'm flying in a few weeks. If tested I will update here. The instructions are very simple to set your own 3 digit code. It looks and feels like any other lock I've used (including the thin neck). Not sure about the tensile strength of the thin neck. I could take 1 out of 4 and test it to see how easily it breaks. I will report it too. At this point, I would only recommend it because of the nice feelโ€ฆ

Cons
  • packaging is ugly

Simple, easy to use lock

Looks like the perfect TSA lock. Building the combo was easy. The neck works smoothly. I haven't had a chance to test the TSA pop-up ad that alerts you that the TSA has picked the lock. And of course I can't test "TSA must reblock before they can remove their key function". But assuming they both work as advertised, it's pretty much perfect. Don't get me wrong, it's like every TSA lock I've ever seen. Not a very secure lock. I would be shocked if it weren't susceptible to many of the commonโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Same as everything before
Cons
  • Negative impression

Not sure at all. I can open it with my hand.

Sorry but these locks are not reliable at all. At least the two I have. I use them for my Pelican 1510 suitcase. There are small suburban flights where we have to check carry-on luggage on the plane and it gets loaded and unloaded there on the runway. Many times my suitcase was loaded with unlocked locks but there was no indicator showing they were opened with a key. Also, this is baggage screening on board the plane, so there isn't even a TSA, just movers. Yes, one of them may have a key, butโ€ฆ
